Welcome to round 7 of the F1 Classic 1967 series: Feldbergring

The Feldbergring race took place every year in Taunus, Germany, from 1920-1928, from 1934-1936, and lastly from 1950-1954. The circuit was 11.6km long and held on public roads, with a height differential of 280m. It was used for the German Motorcycle Championship, as well as single-seater sports cars.

For 1955, the authorities demanded that a bypass was built around the village of Oberreifenberg, which was not made. This meant the end for the Feldbergring, and as a result of the terrible accident at the 1955 Le Mans race, many motorsport event throughout Europe were cancelled or suspended in subsequent years.

This track is most suited to vintage cars, but it can also be great fun with more modern cars too. It is set up with 24 pit boxes, works in Practice, Hotlap, Race and Time Attack modes, has two sets of cameras, a 340,000 tri physical road mesh, 40,125 trees (and no tree walls!), 28 different plant types, and ambient shadows added to most track-side objects.

Let's go out with a bang guys, and have as many drivers as possible on the grid for the last round.
I know it's a long track, but once you've learned it, you will love it! It's one of the highest rated tracks in the AC community and for good reason!

Hope to see you all for the last round !!!!!!!!!!!

Good point. A lap will be around 3.51.xxx. I will ask Rob to increase the qual to 15 minutes. That will give us 3 laps with time to spare.

That is indeed pretty fast. But I'll bet it's on low fuel. A normal laptime with 90 liters on board would be around 3.51.xxx.

Around sometimes but mostly off :)

And yes that is indeed with less than 30L fuel.

I just made a couple of laps with 90 liters and I got 3.45.4xx, and it could be even better.

So many things came up this week -- and I, unfortunately, did not have the chance to practice for this race, but still, just for the sake of this track, I would like to run it behind the grid, probably just to enjoy the view, sorry about that guys.

I'm extremely sorry for creating that terrible mess 15 mins before the end of the race, and I would like to apologize specifically to Phil Brown for taking his second place from him.
I was close behind Phil at the top of that tough left hander at the end of the first uphill straight, and I hit my brakes a split second too late, and just brushed the rear left of Phil's Ferrari; all would have been fine on Monza, but this was the Feldbergring, and the walls are nasty and very close by. Our cars then blocked Matteo, I don't know whether he got by without damage or not, but I think Phil must've suffered steering damage as he quit shortly after.

I apologize once again for this regrettable event.
The racing was great, the best race yet IMO, until I messed up.
    Moral: practice practice practice...

Hey there guys. Sorry for the unprofessional end to the broadcast. I started feeling quite ill a few laps from the end and was finding it really difficult to concentrate. I hope you'll enjoy the race anyway.

Thanks for the series, SRO! It was a really entertaining one. Thanks to all drivers who raced and to everyone who watched my coverage.
Well done to all drivers, especially @Jukka Drugg , @Fabrizio Ferrante and @Laurent Londes , the top three runners. Great performances.
