    Formation lap procedure

    How does each race start?
    1. The race starts by a formation lap
    2. From the second to last corner we go double file
    3. the overall pole-sitter stays ON THE SPEED-LIMITER from that moment on.
    4. Once the polesitter starts the race by crossing the start line, we all go and are free to race.

    ****************************************************************

    No-shows
If a driver does not show up twice for a race without unregistering for that event or letting me know that he can't make it in the event-forum, he will be taken out of the complete series.

(You don't have to unregister for the whole series. You can unregister only for the race you can't do.)

    ****************************************************************

No Esc. on track rule in Qualification
In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

Members who are driving the IMSA DPI class must realize that they have to own the Studio 397 GT3 Challengers Pack + 2 additional cars. (see post 1)
You need all of them to be able to join the server.

Some information for the team on here and also those wishing to take part, we should be fine but just passing this on.

I follow Advanced Simulation Modding Group (previously RSS Modding) on Facebook.

I was reading their end of year summary and came across their plans for the DPi mod which is part of this league.

    Cadillac DPi-V.R, Mazda RT24-P and Acura ARX-05

As you know Studio 397 will release outstanding Cadillac DPi-V.R and it's time to say last goodbye for our car! Caddy was the first car which I've made for AMS and since then we started to grow up and now we're here because of that car! With big help from Andrea and Rodrigo Vieira we build our most famous cars for rFactor 2!
I'm feeling that I must pay some respect for all this 3 cars include Mazda and Acura and in the next year we will remake Acura and Mazda. What about Caddy? We're pretty sure that S397 make amazing car so there is no need to make it again for us and we hope that we all will have fun with official version!

We will start working with DPi cars in February so stay calm and waiting more news from us!

    • Changelog v1.25
    • Tires overheating at various surfaces fix
    • All cars will be repacked for Steam Workshop standards
    • Fixed rainlights and highlights animation
So it looks like once the S397 Cadillac will be released their version will be removed from the STEAM workshop. When that will be I'm not sure but just letting anyone know who's thinking of using that car.

Admittedly I suppose once it's installed on your RF2 installation it won't go anyway.

Then in the new year the other two DPi's will be BoP'd against the official S397 DPi car. That's what it looks like anyway.

I'm still sticking with the Mazda (as that was my first choice anyway), fingers crossed and see how things go :)

    Good info Andrew, thanks.
When the S397 IMSA Cadillac will be released, we will use that one of course. The IMSA Acura and Mazda will be updated through Steam when the time is there I suppose.
So I think it will all work out.

Yeah in fairness they are one of the few modding groups that will update cars once they are released. So I do believe them when they say they'll update the other two cars once the Caddy gets released by S397. We may get lucky and they may be nicely balanced out of the box. Fingers crossed :)

Actually, I have a better idea. We will keep the current IMSA Cadillac for the whole series (if that's possible when they take it down on Steam. It's installed, so it should be available). The current Cadillac is good enough.

    Reasons:
First, I can't impose a DLC (probably a DLC) on the members in the middle of a series.
Second, the new S397 Cadillac will probably not be BOP'd with the current Acura and Mazda when it comes out.

The S397 Cadillac will be used for another series.

The problem then would be the Mazda and the Acura will get a BoP update but the original Cadillac will not ?

I think they will BOP it from the S397 Cadillac. They can't do it the other way around.

Why no Vette? People love the Vette. I love the Vette. racers love the Vette. Would I choose it? No. But why no Vette? :D

The GT3 Corvette is not included in the Challengers Pack. We already have 2 additional DLC's with the Ferrari and the Bentley. Putting another one in would make it too expensive.

Did quick test with Mazda, felt good. Well made mod.
How do those cars compare to each other?

I did a BOP test with the DPI on Valencia and they were all pretty equal.

Does 15 laps and goes a second faster than anyone else.....typical. lol :)

I'm assuming you are opting for the standard aero? I say that because there's a recorded top speed of 300kph but your fastest laps are at 290kph? Which says to me you were trying both levels of aero.

I created myself a livery (because I just can't help it, lol) and I'll start testing from today if I feel like it, still tired from the retail Christmas madness for some stupid reason.

lol, yeah I normally work on foods but yesterday I helped out on clothing, with the Sale and everyone bringing back unwanted Christmas presents I think I served a few hundred people. My brain was frazzled, lol. Thankfully we are more quiet today :)
