AMS2 - Azure circuit - Porsche 911 RS 1974 - Simracing Online race 5

Very intense race in Monaco and a massive fight against Julian who had the best pace of the day. His mistake in T1 of L1 was a blessing as, otherwise, he would have disappeared in the distance. Monaco showed again how difficult is to overtake in this track. I really had a lot of fun and, despite a few minor mistakes, was happy with not messing up enough to open too many doors for Julian to overtake. Congrats to Davide on a fantastic solid drive and to Julian for his contention despite the frustration of being held for most of the race. Well done to everyone else and thanks to Rob for setting this up. Enjoy!

AMS2 - Kyalami 1976 - Porsche 911 RS 1974 - Simracing Online race 2

Another intense race with the RSR, this time at Kyalami 1976. The battle with Davide and Chris was epic during the first 20ish minutes of the race. Really enjoy the close fights. It was perhaps too close at times and the unavoidable happened at some point with Chris and I being worst affected. Davide took the advantage and robustly defended the gap for which I really didn't have a solid response... All in all, a great race, and with Csaba and Mariusz problems at the back, I managed to get on top in the championship...(for now) Enjoy!

AMS2 - Montreal 1988 - Porsche 911 RSR 1974 - Simracing Online race 1

Almost a perfect race yesterday (after so long!) with the 911 RSR74 at Montreal. What a shame (really embarrassing!) my last mistake where I lost the lead and the race (I could try blaming it to the lack of practice recently in online racing but nah, it was just a silly mistake under pressure. Argghhhhh!). Other than that, I really enjoyed the 45 mins race with this great machine in a beautiful track. Congrats to Csaba and Mariusz for such great races. Csaba, there was a massive lag when we touched in T2. I didn't know what was the problem and didn't want to overtake in such circumstances. Hope it wasn't my system and sorry anyway. The overtake was really hard. Again, all look correct at the time in the race (generally) but will check the reply to confirm. It was really great fighting with you in the first race back after so many months. I'm glad I haven't slowed down a few secs as I was dreading. Looking forward to our next races (hopefully other commitments will allow). Thanks, as always, to Rob for organising this and all for taking part. All the best, Jos

AMS2 - Laguna Seca - BMW M8 GTE - Simracing Online race

An eventful race yesterday at Laguna Seca for me. The BMWs had the advantage and I had picked up a better setup than the one I had in Daytona... Not a bad qualy (3rd) but a terrible start... I thought it was going to be a rolling start! Even worse was my decision to risk on the radiator opening by keeping just 40% -first warning from the crew chief was 6 mins after the beginning of the race- (combined with my high revving when I lost control at the corkscrew). The high temperatures forced me to keep the pace down but it seems others had far more complex races than I had (except @Gillis Hommen Congrats on the win! btw). Despite all my issues, I managed to keep an overall 2nd position which was a gift considering the circumstances. I had fun managing the distances (a different type of race). BTW, something might have happened early in the race and there were a few fast drivers soon overlapped that were catching up and trying to un-lap themselves. Nothing wrong with that, particularly as we were managing our own race in the front- but there was perhaps an excess of flashing that was a bit distracting... Hope you enjoy the video. Thanks again @Rob Milliken for putting this together and all for racing. Jos

AMS2 - Daytona - BMW M8 GTE - Simracing Online race

Hi All, It was a challenging race for me but good fun. Thanks @Rob Milliken for organising. I don't have much time to practice these days and the setup was standard, very regular and slow... That kept my pace far from the podium positions but I still had good fun. I think I was to blame in the early race incident with @Balazs Flossmann when defending at the straight before the chicane. Lost a few position whilst waiting his recovery (and giving another position as I wasn't sure what car I was waiting for!) but got back again in the chase with the standard, noncompetitive but safe setup... I hate making that mistake (only serious one in the hour race) in the last part of the race that gave @Szilárd Halászi such an easy run for the overtake. It would have happened anyway (most likely) but not great in that way... Other than that, sorry about @John vd Geest newby mistake (that prevented us from our usual battling :D) and looking forward to the round in Laguna Seca (always a difficult track for me...) We'll see.

First proper online race since the recent big gap in simracing. Great race with a podium finish that could have been 2nd position had I not made the silly mistake of not reading the instructions and realising I didn't need to change tyres at the pit stop!! Although, even without changing tyres, I'm sure the battle with John wouldn't have been sorted out that easily... I had a lot of fun. Managed a few overtakes making the most of complex moments for Toni, John and Jen. I had a great time as used to. See you next time. Jos Ogos

WELCOME TO THE FERRARI 250 GTO CHALLENGE https://simracingonline.co.uk/racing/seriesinfo/248 The Ferrari 250 GTO is a GT car produced by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964 for homologation into the FIA's Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. It was powered by Ferrari's Tipo 168/62 Colombo V12 engine. The "250" in its name denotes the displacement in cubic centimeters of each of its cylinders; "GTO" stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, Italian for "Grand Touring Homologated." Just 36 of the 250 GTOs were manufactured between 1962 and 1964. This includes 33 cars with 1962-63 bodywork (Series I) and three with 1964 (Series II) bodywork similar to the Ferrari 250 LM. Four of the older 1962-1963 (Series I) cars were updated in 1964 with Series II bodies. When new, the 250 GTO cost $18,000 in the United States, with buyers personally approved by Enzo Ferrari and his dealer for North America, Luigi Chinetti.[citation needed] This model has since become highly desired by automobile collectors and sales have repeatedly set price records. The current record for world's most expensive car was set in June 2018 when a 1963 250 GTO (chassis 4153GT) was sold in a private sale for $70 million. In 2004, Sports Car International placed the 250 GTO eighth on a list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s, and nominated it the top sports car of all time. Similarly, Motor Trend Classic placed the 250 GTO first on a list of the "Greatest Ferraris of All Time. "Popular Mechanics named it the "Hottest Car of All Time."

AC - Laguna Seca historic - Lola T70 MarkII - SRO Round 3

Bad luck at the beginning of the race as Phil Brown forgot to engage 1st gear but the resulting melee delivered much fun and intense wheel-to-wheel fighting for a good part of the race as I was progressing back from P13 to P7 which is fairly the best I could do yesterday. The fight with teammate Maxime and the final battle with Filip Stovanovich were the highlights of the race. I pitted early to avoid slowing the team down when I was losing focus after the intense first third of the race... And I had to get back in full to focus when Filip was breathing on my neck. He was all over me, with much better pace, but I was closing all the gaps ;) We touched and lost some time but Filip is a gent and everything ended well. Not the best race but it was fun. I'm sure Filip, without the start incident would have ended much better than 8th... but hey... Those things happen. Kudos to Philip for his decision on next race. BTW, if I may, let me promote the next series starting on 15th April with the Ferrari GTO at Miseluk. Sure you don't want to miss it.
AC - Black Cat County - Ferrari F50 - SRO Round 6 FT series

Fantastic race (end of the champ/series) at Black Cat County yesterday with the F50. It's been a lot of fun and the F50 has delivered close wheel-to-wheel fighting all along. A good distribution of winners for different races and always competitive driving. Well done all! I'm obviously particularly happy having won a couple of races, the last one and the champ which will allow me to choose the mod for the next series... Ferrari 250 GTO! The race was hectic yesterday as expected. Managed a surprising pole and didn't fail at the start but had Filip soon enough breathing on my neck. His charge was ruthless (in the best of senses) and it was closing every gap, everywhere in the track. Eventually, we touched and almost spun on the final Ss. John make the most of the opportunity and went ahead. That was tricky, if he won and I had to retire for whatever reason, he would have won the champ!! I had to get on the charge and overtake. Filip made a few mistakes and got out of the fight although doing the fastest lap of the race when everything worked for him... It was difficult to overtake on this track with the very similar level with John... But he made a mistake and I went through. I was managing a little gap in some parts of the track. That was giving me confidence but then I made my own mistake. John went ahead... By then, I had already won the champ with Filip's retirement but winning the race was in reach... I needed to react promptly and chased John like mad on that lap eventually overtaking at the beginning of the next. That was the moment of the race for me... Impressive pace by Csaba who caught us quite quickly after the incident when Tom's created a bit of a bottleneck on the first chicane. Thanks to John for setting this up. Sorry not many more drivers could join. It would have been spectacular with a bigger grid. I think the F50 deserves a proper series sometime in the near future... Perhaps after the 250 GTO?
ACC - Zandvoort - McLaren 570S GT4 - SRO Round 5

Very difficult race yesterday with the McLaren 570S. I made the most at the start with two overtakes in T1. This was followed by 6 minutes of an intense attack on Vasilis that defended well and didn't give me any options to overtake. And, after that, everything changed... Vasilis took a 1 sec advantage at the same time that Mark caught on me and I had to shift to adraconian defensive mode. One after another, from Mark, to John and Toni, I contained their relentless attacks. It's not easy overtaking with these GT4s... That helped a lot. Eventually I kept my 2 gains ending on P6 after an intense race. Enjoy!

AC - Road America - Lola T70 MarkII - SRO Round 2

Quite an intense and competitive race yesterday. I managed to break to the 2:13s in practice (showing the way to the other top runners) and repeated it again in the early stages of qualy. Unfortunately, I didn't time well my first stint in qualy and ran out of fuel so had to spend the last 5mins in pits seeing how I was relegated to 4th in the grid. The first few laps in the race were hectic. Managed an overtake on Laurent when he was punted by Davide on T5 and kept P3 for a while, challenging Matteo for P2 at times and later on engaging in a fantastic defensive battle with Filip and Laurent to maintain P3. Filip consolidated the overtake but Laurent and I were exchanging P4 and P5 in different parts of the track. That fighting couldn't be good for our wider battle with Matteo, Philip and Filip, so I decided to pit early and clear the way to, hopefully, not lose much time on our dog fight... A few of the front runners lost quite a lot of time during the pit stop. Filip made the 'rookie' mistake of not preparing for the fuel strategy before the race (I'm sure this won't happen again), but having timed Matteo's pit stop and compared it with mine, I can see we are exactly the same time (11 secs) actually stopped changing tires and refueling. The big difference (2.5 secs) on the overall pit entry is due to Matteo's clever strategy to use AC's benevolent take on those dive-bombing into pits at maximum speed. If you do that in almost any other sim, you get a massive penalty including a 10 secs Stop & Go... I suppose we could all dive-bomb into pits but it might be more proper to enter the pit without killing 3 entire crew teams on your way... There is an issue that I believe we should investigate before the next races. It happened in Zandvoort and massively more in Road America... The brutal lag moments (I'm not sure what caused them but it wasn't only me, Maddie... I think it was a server issue) impacted heavily the race yesterday. For starters, the initial spin from Maddie when Filip, her, and I were approaching the

rF2 - New Hampshire Oval - Tattus PM18 - Round 5 - SRO

My solidarity with @SimRacing604. The simracing community should not tolerate the false accusations from the SimDream developers to silence the discussion about modding, original content, and unethical sales practices. I hope this ends up well and fairly for Mike. The race yesterday was flawless and very intense despite the apparent calm at times. Even if there were not many drivers, the likelihood of getting embroiled in a big accident that, without double yellows and SC, would give the advantage to those unaffected in front was big. But everyone behaved and, even if there were a few crashes, nothing major developed to undo the race. Started in pole after a SB time in qualy (that latter on Denis improved during the warm-up!). I got a 1.7 secs advantage in the first few laps but Caitlin wasn't prepared to give up and did a terrific first stint to get on comfortably on P1. I was worried with the tyres' wear as doing more than 1 pitstop didn't look effective. After 10 laps the car was quite loose and it needed to last for another 50 or so. I decided to keep my distance with Caitlin as running too close was challenging on the turns. 1 to 1.5 secs distance looked safe and I got to think on strategies for the win . Caitlin's stopped earlier than I thought and I changed strategy, following her into pits, to mirror her as she was the one to watch at that stage in the race. We both reached the pit entry at the limit of speed. I was probably transitioning into the 80km/h limit as I was crossing the line (avoiding the dreaded Stop & Go) but Caitlin was just over it... We left pits with the same diff we entered in but Caitlin had to enter again... That was key for the rest of the race. I found myself soon running in P1 with 1 lap advantage over the rest and Caitlin just behind. She did unlapped herself and recovered part of the lost time but I could keep her in line of sight whilst managing the race and win until the end. I had a great time, very intense, and a terrible pain in the neck at the end of the race. Congra

AMS2 - Ibarra - Formula Vee - Round 3 - SRO

The Vee is a sublime car that I love and Ibarra (Yahuacocha) a beautiful track. I'm glad about the race yesterday. Managed to improve my times on qualy to 1:40.67 (I think) below the 1:41 barrier that was so challenging during practice. Race started with Gillis challenge as it could be expected. Csaba was keeping close and ready to attack a the right timing. The battle with Gillis was intense until we got too close and his Vee didn't forgive him for the quick correcting action to avoid punting me. Without any errors on our side, Gillis was out of contention as we were doing very similar times. Csaba pushed it hard for the rest of the race and kept me more than honest if I wanted to keep in control of the outcome. All came to a precipitated end a couple of laps before the end of the race but, until then, it was certainly intense. Enjoy!

rF2 - Nordschleife - DTM Mercedes 190E - SRO proposal

Who would like to do rFactor 2 DTM 1991? John vd Geest recently discovered an outstanding rFactor 2 mod: DTM 1991. It's as good as any Studio 397 mod, if not better. The mod has been developed by a former race car driver, so he should know how it must feel :) There are 5 cars. Each car has it's own sound and physics. It's pure classic racing without any aids. Cars in the mod: - Audi Quatro - Mustang - BMW - Opel Omega - Mercedes It's a DLC and costs € 15,- Well worth the money. If we can get 15 members to commit to this, we will do a series with it on Wednesday's in May and a bigger series on Sunday's in September.
AC - Zandvoort 1973 - Lola T70 MarkII - SRO Round 1

I am not overly happy with yesterday's race. In relative terms, I improved from P7 at the start to P4 which could have been P3 without the incident with Matteo, and if I had managed to hold him for another couple of laps... I cannot complain in this sense (others had significantly worse experiences yesterday) but I feel that no one other than Maddie and, possibly, Laurent, can be happy with yesterday's race. We were heavily outperformed by Maddie's speed and that's worrying on one hand, although it might also suggest we have still a huge scope for improvement in the remaining of the series. It was certainly a suffering day for the usual aliens. Matteo's second stint suggests he spent the 15 secs it took to change his tyres binge drinking grappa of the highest alcoholic content. He insisted on giving me back P3 by making awkward mistakes after running an almost perfect first part of the race. The return (I'm sure only temporary) to the human race for Tim was also hard to witness (especially for him), but we are all celebrating his arrival to Earth with joy. The track is very nice and excellent in many aspects but it needs refining in some areas. Pit wall is dreadful and some of the kerbs project your suspension to outer space in ways you wouldn't possibly expect. Thanks to Caitlin for pointing this out during her stream as I felt outraged with those awkward aspects of the track. I feel we have to do much more work in the car setup (even if Maxime's cat had already a good start) and look forward to some improvement in the next races. Enjoy!
