Welcome to round three of the LMU Prep Series! For this round, you will need to be registered with the LMGT3 class. Please un-register and re-register in the proper car should you find yourself in the ELMSP2 class from the last round This round will feature the LMGT3! (You are free to use any year of this car) Keep in mind that if you don't own the DLC you will have the 2 free cars to choose from, the Ford Mustang GT3 and the McLaren 720s GT3 Evo. These are both great cars! In this race, we will be checking out LMU's rain characteristics! The race will start with heavy rain and end with light clouds/sun... This will also force us to venture into the pit menu process in case we need to change tires from wets to drys. Remember, this is a preparation series, so if you don't know how the pit stops work in LMU, this is your chance to learn how and attempt it under pressure .. With heavy rain for the first 1/2 of the race, there is a good chance a tire change might come into play as the track dries out, but with the short 30-minute session, it might require wets to the end . We shall see!
What we already know about the wet weather physics. Although the game is in its 1.XX release state, some factors are still being worked on to be introduced in future updates. Things like: 1. Rain has no sound when hitting the car .. (Could you even hear anyway, when wearing a helmet with the engine screaming?) 2. Puddles seem to have no effect as of yet. (Future update) But the wet track physics are indeed working as they should 3. No raindrops in replays..
The 5 weather settings are set up. The track state is set to 'WET' for the start. 1. Overcast with heavy rain. 2. Overcast with light rain. 3. Cloudy & Drizzle. 4. Light clouds. 5 Clear. So we should see the track start to dry out towards the end, but we can't be certain about the state of the track's wetness. But thats what we are going to find out! We have 3 sets of tires (12) total .. Tires should be no issue for this short 30 min sprint.. The 75-minute practice session will mirror the race settings.. Q will be cloudy with drizzle, but starting with a dry track..
Servers up! Practice session will be mostly rainy with a brief break towards the middle of the 75-minute session, followed by more rain at the end.. This is to allow latecomers to practice in the wet .. The 'race sessions' rain should stop about 1/2 way .. This is how it has been set up ..How accurately the server responds to the settings is anyone's guess ..lol GLA, See you on track
It doesn't let me on the server.. only me or..? Edit: seems like with 2024 car it's no go. With 2025 it's ok.
What a race ..The spray was intense! I couldn't see anything when behind, crazy stuff.. lol I posted the results; however, we have some errors with the lap counts. The top all had 12 laps but it's showing 9 and 10 for a few drivers via the SRO results software, but in simresults.net it all shows correct .. We also had 1 driver registered in the wrong class & which threw the result software into a chasm of errors that took me on a not-so-fun journey to try and solve. The only way was to create 2 winners, with one being the LMP2 out of class driver.. This might have had something to do with the total laps being out of place as well.. For the next round, let's all ensure we select the correct class on the sign-ups.
Crash going through au rouge. Car just tucked exiting and bounced off the barriers on both sides. I retired to the pits as car was done for Well done finishers and podium
