Nice video. Initial thoughts Rob, particularly on the physics? Does it feel like a sim, or a simcade?

@Ken Jagger: Have you tried ACE Ken? If so, what's your thoughts?

I have been facing difficulties with my wheel configuration, but I believe I have improved it to some extent. If anyone owns a wheel similar to mine, I recommend visiting the following link for a helpful G-Hub and G29 wheel setup guide. This is the resource I utilized, along with some adjustments to the settings. It also is the same for G920 settings. I have set center spring in G-Hub to 50%

Nice Video, Rob! For this game, I need to upgrade my current video card as it is not sufficient for the game's higher settings.

The last seconds of the video show Rob's PC hardware. It's an Nvidia 4090.

    Thanks!
I was on the fence about the game but couldn't resist the temptation to give it a go once I saw it was in EA & with a few perc's for early purchase .:D.
The installation was seamless with no hiccups however I did find the settings menu for the wheel setup a little overwhelming .. there are a lot of settings to go through with little to no explanation .. I have a Logi Pro DD and the game recognized it with no issues so once I made a few mistakes I started to figure out how to set everything up , keep in mind a lot of the features you see in the settings are not yet 'turned on' in the early access .. Things like simply trying to find the view keys was like a treasure hunt lol ..
Just to give you an example, for headlights you have like 10 settingso_O

Then don't forget about cockpit lighting :p wait wut??

So in short a lot is going on in the setup menu .. prob because there will be lots of road cars in EVO .. IDK

The driving: Wow, just wow .. I have to say this does not drive anything like a simcade lol .. I have only driven the BMW M2 the Merc GT2 & the PCC so no street cars yet and I can say these cars feel really good! in kunos fashion, the psyx are superb, the tire model feel is amazing, and the weight transfer seems spot on .. It drives nothing like ACC & that's a good thing for me as ACC is a bit brick-like to me, so that's a good thing.. it's closer to a cross between LMU & AMS2 with better weight feel over AMS2 (that can be kind of floaty
    for some players) ..
The EA is still pretty rough but with the right hardware, it runs pretty dam good ! being one of the newer sims I would expect that .. Kunos ditched the Unreal Engine 4.26.2 and built their own in-house engin & so far the results are stunning (if you have the horsepower to crank it up) gone are the Unreal engine artifacts that have plagued ACC ..

Keep in mind the long-term goal for this sim is the open-world concept where you develop your skills and advance. The game’s in-game economy will enable players to buy and rent cars, gain XP, view their driver profile, unlock rewards and earn driving licenses.
We will have to wait & see what kind of league action we will be able to do with this sim as its MP features are yet to be seen, I did read somewhere that it will have something similar to LMU's MP system with a pay per use style of server rental ..but this is all hearsay for now ;)
I will say I can't stop driving it! lol .. But i must as we have some league events coming up!:D:p

I have an amazing monitor that I picked up about 2 years ago made by Phillips, especially for gaming It's a 50" 4k that goes up to 144 Hrz on PC and higher

As for whether or not it's leaning towards simcade, Dont take my word for it ..
Lets see what someone who drives for real has to say ...

Thanks for the info Rob. I bought LMU within a minute of it going into early access, but this has had me sitting on the fence. However, it looks like ACE will be another one to add to the hard drive. It sounds good, apparently drives really well and it certainly looks great. Probably the best Bathurst I've seen.
Again, thanks for the detailed review. Much appreciated.

Just despise those clickbait thumbnails. I prefer to just rely on my own opinion when trying it myself. If I enjoy it... then fine, if I don't... then fine :)

Had my first race online with Assetto Evo today and it was pretty good. I haven't done any graphics tweaking for VR, but it is already looking fine on my Pimax Crystal. It also runs great and stutter free so far so good.
Servers cannot be hosted for free but I have seen on you tube that it will cost £1/player slot/month.
LMU taking a similar route where you have to purchase credits and use them to host a server.

I have had 2 or 3 EVO online races so far .I did have some lag, but I'm in the US and all the servers are 280 -300 plus ping for me. The parts that ran well were ok, but a long way to go IMO ..
We are currently using the LUM pay/server structure & to sum it up in one word, I would say cheap! (in a good way ;-) $$ lol hours of server time for pennys .. Still sux that we can't have our own dedicated servers, but this is the future of online sim racing, like it or not...

I actually dont mind the pay server idea if it means that the hosts take more time in how they are setup and there is less tolerance of fools on their servers. I am also happy to contribute to the server costs as well.
