Hm and why did you gave up? You would‘ve been 13th now, at least. The race wasn‘t over. There were so many mistakes from other guys (like me :()

For me it was such a pain to drive. Headaches, neck pain, so no concentration and to many mistakes following in huge vibrations. Then I was unable to get a good rythm and ended up into the wall and stucked there. Stupid bug.

True, but when you have a damaged car, on a track that is basically 4 straights, and you have another 59 minutes to drive ....

This did not start out well when rFactor2 went to a black screen during qualifying and I had to use Windows Task Manager to stop the process so that I could restart and get back to the server. Had to wait until warmup before I could get back in (it was the same for a couple of other drivers too) so it was fingers-crossed that it would not happen again.
When the race started I managed to pick up a few places and then settled down to follow Jens with Pascal in close attendance. Jens was 5 or 6 sec ahead but gradually, by a few tenths per lap, I was able to close up. We had many laps of nose-to-tail running until I eventually found a way past. This lasted for a couple of laps until I ran wide at the hairpin and Jens didn't need a second invitation. We resumed our formation and then Philipp joined in the fun. He did an amazing outbaking move on me into the chicane and that was the last I saw of him . Towards the final laps John reached us and he caught me napping into the hairpin and simply drove around the outside . A few corners later I saw a small opening and tried to get on John's inside but took too much kerb/grass and spun ... glad to see that John was able to continue ok.
Congrats to Michal, Roberto and Jens who made it onto the podium and to Michal for taking the Championship.
A thoroughly enjoyable race and I must also thank Mac and Matheus for another superb broadcast

Thank you SRO for giving us this championship, it has been tremendous fun :).

What could have been, great start, lead the race but due to my high tyre deg I planned with a stop. Therefore I was lighter than @Michał Mazurek or @Roberto Balli, who are way faster than me under normal circumstances. After my stop I was seventh, Gert-Jan was very fast on the straight but I managed to pass him. The same with Jens and Bill. Running in fourth was good, I had also the fastest lap which gave me five points.
But I also caught up to @Dionysis Faraos with five minutes to go and then....

I cannot discribe it, brutal feeling. It´s pathetic and makes me laught at the same time. I feel somehow robbed and empty. Thought about never sim racing again, but with distance it is just depressing. I need a while to process that.

For details, I had a good exit out of the last turn, was in the slipstream and thought about a move into tun one. My braking point is just at 100 meter board, and he also braked there the lap before. But suddendly at the 300 meter board the car in front of me hit the brakes and send my flying. Was send direct to the pits lol

Here the screenshot from the replay

Any opinions on that? It is possible to misjudge the own braking point in such a manner or was that a brake test? Should I protest even if it brings me nothing back?

I'm so sorry, I got called by my parents to help them with something and I accidentally pressed brake on my pad.I don't know how it happened, I didn't want to ruin your race like that, again I'm so sorry, you deserved a better result.

Sorry to Gert-Jan van Osch for sliding into you. rFactor 2 kicks me out of qualy most of the time with this mod, so I was already mentally prepared for a recovery drive.

Thank you all for joining the DNF series. The car was great to drive, really old school. I hope you had a lot of fun doing it and I thank you very much for supporting the series.

Grats to Michal Mazurek for winning the championship!!

    Tough race, but enjoyable.
Got caught at the start in the chicane mayhem and restarted almost last, but went back to 10th within a couple of laps due to mistakes ahead of me.
From that point, I followed Gert-Jan for a while but couldn't catch him. After 20 minutes my tyres were already dead and I was losing grip, over him and in every turn, and I was struggling to keep the car on track for the remainder of the race with the front wheels vibrating and the rear end sliding.
Nice battle with Pascal Bauer and John van der Geest (sorry for the slow down in the last turn, I made one too many downshift while struggling with the car).
Unexpected 7th in the end, I'm happy.

Congrats to winner and champion Michal
Thank you Matheus and Mac for the broadcast, good job and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you John for this series. Cars were fun to drive. Also it was great to have the opportunity to drive "my" car with "my" helmet on track, I'll definitively have another look at open wheeler in the future.

You need to adjust the settings slightly to get the best out of rf2.

You can set virtual mirrors, rfactor2/UserData/player/player.json

    "Rearview Onboard":1,
    "Rearview Onboard#":"0=Off, 1=Center+Sides, 2=Center, 3=Sides (virtual mirrors only, in-car mirrors are on\/off),

    "Virtual Rearview In Cockpit":true,

And how much do you hear the opponent's car in audio menu.

It has not happened yet that I would do everything as it should be from the beginning to the very end.
    Qualifications
At the Osterreichring track, I started with the penalty of stop & go 10s
Fortunately, everything ended perfectly: Pole Position. My first PP in this series
    Race
A weak start, a choked engine, before I put in the second gear, Philipp was already in front of me. I tried with all my might to overtake him at a distance, but he would not even allow me to get closer.
At twenty minutes before the end I got P1 for free. I wondered what was going on, I thought you might have been punished for cutting the circuit? Now it's clear.
on the last laps I tried to play for the full pot, i.e. get the fastest lap, but the last sector was not for me through destroyed tires.
What a crazy series. The real DNF series. I played very well here, but I got tired, as it should be.
For my part I would like to thank drivers for racing, organizers for the series and the team for their relationship and professional commentary (sometimes it would be useful to replay)

See you on the track, probably in the autumn season

When you are in a dogfight you can get bitten, fortunately I did not loose my wings so I could bring the car home in 5th, which was more than I expected. rF2 disconnected me before at Rouen, but I was able to continue qually after restarting rF2. It was a different challenging starting from the rear. (Normally when I drive against AI I always start from the rear.)

    Race recap:

After a disconnection from rF2 I started dead last. I had a great launch but did not anticipate that the car in front of me would be that late of the line and I could not avoid him so I hit his right rear with my left front (my bad). When I looked at the damage indicator it showed no damage so I was lucky, however when I did a few laps I could not get them below mid 1m41s, so apperently there was damage. I suffered a lot of understeer which hurt a lot in the long sweeping corners.

Nevertheless I was able to gain a lot of positions the few laps running in 7th managing position for a while. When Philipp left the pits I caught up with him and managed to overtake him at the end of the straight. I was able to defend for a few laps but had to give up when I braked a bit too late and missed the entrance of the chicane.

A few laps later John caught up with me and we had a 3 lap battle where I also had trouble overtaking a Rob due to my overheated fronts less downforce on the front wing. In the end I crashed with John when he moved over to my line. We touched wheels like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton did in the penultimate lap and I was pushed on the grass and could not slow the car down enough and with locked tyres I crashed into John. Luckily we could both continue. (At that point my damage indicator still showed no damage to the car but I expect that to be a rF2 bug.)

The DNF series was my first experience in online racing and I enjoyed the experience very much. So I guess you will be seeing me around for some time. Finally congrats to Michal with his victory and the championship.

I also enjoyed watching the replay of the livestream and the enthousiasm of the commentating team.

See you soon, different time different series... Grtz Gert-Jan

1st corner tango , thought i was clear but clipped someone then got into a little dance with someone else. Found myself facing barrier and no reverse gear set. Reved the t...ts out of the car until it eventually rolled backwards and onto track. Set about a few good laps but could see that there was a sizable group of front runners not too far from lapping me . Had some fun setting a rythmn and puting laps together and a few laps later the leaders were on me . I let them pass as best i could but often i get a little rattled and make a mistake.
Anyhow i spun off the track and waited for the guys to pass . The gap between them meant i couldnt re enter track safely for a while and with that in mind I DNF,d.
So im sure the dnf series trophy goes to me.:p
Im a bit sad this has ended as i was finding some pace and would probably have won the next race;)
    CONGRATS Michal cya all soon

Great finale, had decent pace but made some small adjustment that might locked up the tyres, had severe vibration the last 45 minutes or so.
Did not really manage to keep in touch with the front and soon Bill was close up and we had several laps switching positions a few times.

Near the end with 1 lap to go, John who was faster, was just was flying past me on the straight :D

    upload_2019-5-27_20-44-45.png

However, he did not really make the turn in into the chicane, so with the slightest margin I kept him behind me for the last lap.

This have been a great series, must say it turned out much more fun than expected and I have had decent speed as well.
To often I way off in these open wheelers. Thanks SRO for hosting, Matheus and Marc for the brilliant broadcast/commentary.

John, I can assure you that I tried every single key on my keyboard, but I didn't find the right one probably. The only thing I managed to do was to set in the controls menu the keys on my G29 to look left/right/behind, and I even looked behind before the braking but I was extremely cautious at T1, cause Andrew's car seemed more distanced than it actually was. I simply didn't expect to find him on the inside at that point. Was a complete misjudgment by my side, but unfortunately I never had the feelings that he would have pulled such a good braking, and that move was completely unexpected by me. After I watched the video I felt like a complete idiot reading my post, but without having seen any replay I just typed my words few seconds later than he posted the video. Bad luck for both of us, cause I'm sure it could have been a funny race for both me and Andrew. I hate to spoil the fun of the other drivers as I suffer so much when others do the same with me, so I sincerly apologize again with Andrew, and I already changed the settings on my player file as suggested by Henri. Thanks for your help.
