I think tyre management is goint to be the main concern with this car, like with the Mini. But is a really nice car to drive, let's see how it goes today!

Highlight video of the tyre blow ups

I´m not sure why Ken could continue but I lost the control over my car (could not turn nor steer and the gas stuck). Maybe a different problem but my wheel seems alright. Strange.
My strategy without a pitstop nearly worked, but the race was either one lap too long or I drove a bit too aggressive to keep Jens behind me. Without my offroad excursion, which cost me 6-7 seconds, I think the strategy was the right call. But not well executed by mel.

Anyway thanks for hosting/running. I have not much time at the moment for racing, but hopefully I will see you at the next round.

Hmmm......very strange what happened to you Philipp . I've never encountered that before and can't offer an explanation. My RF Tyre wear went to 0% (as indicated by the GID Plugin) when I lost control, so I assumed I had a blow out but maybe not? However the result wasn't as severe as your situation.

My strategy as you guys nearly worked but finally it didn't. 0% tyre and a puncture was how I ended. My race was ruined in qualy because my pc went crazy and I had to restart. That left me without time to make a decent lap, so started in the back and I destroyed my tyres gaining positions again. By the time I was fourth, everyone in front of me went to pits, wich put me in 1st and I thought it was going to work. But at the end I think the right strategy was to pit.

Anyway, let's see in the next round!

Well I threw away a chance of a win here with not knowing AMS well enough. In practice I tried a few pitstops and found out that you couldn't set the tyres to the 'No Change' option so I wrongly assumed you had to change all 4 tyres. So during the race I was chasing Manuel. Closing in on him when his front tyres began to wear. I went with the strategy of being as smooth as I could which meant slightly slower laps than I could have done. I decided if Manuel pitted I'd go in with him. On the pit entry I closed right up behind him putting me in an excellent position for the second stint, or so I thought. I was half way through my stop when Manuel rushed passed me and he was gone. Damn it. How the hell did he do that? I assumed I had picked up some damage somewhere but I could think where. So what had just happened. It was only as I was trying to get to sleep that it dawned on me that AMS shows you the tyres you currently have fitted and not the tyres you are going to fit. DOH!!!! I am such an idiot.:oops::confused::mad::(. So I came out of the pits behind Csaba and I just couldn't close the gap. I burnt through my tyres trying. Csaba made a mistake at one point and I closed up right behind him but had no tyres to attack and he pulled away again.

    Well done Manuel :)
    Well done Csaba :)
Well done to Ramon for trying. You had me going there. I thought did I throw away a win by following Manuel into the pits. But at that point my tyres were shot so there was no chance of getting to the end. But you showed that it could be possible. :)

Yeah, I don't know the other tracks but this one was definitely high demanding on tyres. At the end, had I started more in front (4th was my target instead of 6th) and had the race ended a lap before, my gamble would had worked. Maybe in less tyre demanding tracks the non-stop strategy works.

    Talk about "Deja Vu"...
Two years ago there was a race at the same track with the same cars with almost the same racers (https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/racing/eventinfo/290)
The fastest laps of the race were really close: 1:25.486 (Csaba), 1:25.567 (Me) and 1:25.643 (Paul)
After offline practice I knew I could run a 1:24 lap time but what about the others?
Well, the fastest laps of the race were, once again, really close: 1:24.725, 1:24.835, 1:24.856
    Only a tenth of a second :)
After going to the pits I noticed some drivers would not be stopping so I gave it all.
At the end of the stint I had no tyres left to defend nor try not to stop so I agree with Paul. He had a very good chance of victory.
Today I know I was lucky, (Ramon had a puncture, Paul had a slow pitstop) but each race has its own story, so next time will be different.
    Good race guys

Congratulations for the track selection. Automobilista has a lot of interesting and fun tracks that do not exist on any other sims.
It's always exciting to learn new tracks or relearning (is that a word?) tracks that are rarely used. :)

I couldn't agree more Manuel :). I don't go for running the same old, same old tracks every series.
