Welcome to round 2 Magny Cours

Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is a motor racing circuit located in central France, near the towns of Magny-Cours and Nevers, some 250 km (160 miles) from Paris and 240 km (150 miles) from Lyon.

It staged the Formula One French Grand Prix from 1991 (succeeding Circuit Paul Ricard) to 2008, and the 24-hour Bol d'Or motorcycle endurance events from 2000 to 2014 (succeeded by Circuit Paul Ricard). It hosted the French motorcycle Grand Prix in 1992, and the Superbike World Championship in 1991 and annually since 2003.

Magny-Cours has hosted several additional international championships, like the World Sportscar Championship, World Touring Car Championship, FIA GT Championship, World Series by Renault and Formula 3 Euroseries. Also, the FFSA GT Championship has visited the circuit since 1997.

What a fantastic race. 2 different approaches to setup. low wing and high wing. really made me sweat in this one.
Q well 1st row, cant complain. Missing something in Q pace tho, i think its that rearflap usage and all sorts + modern formulas maybe not best to my style atm.
    Stint 1
looking learning and ofc pushing but was clear to me i cant shake Caitlin off! superb on slow ones and specially in couple exits and using drs to get my straight line speed.
You really pumped some good laptimes. Tuned down engine couple times to save it, only to push it back up and try again!
    Stint 2
lower fuel and could do much better. gained on leader rather quickly and got past but again was nervous about not breaking away out of that drs. went totally max out and high risk few laps and competition made a mistake eventually so finally broke it! pushed until got fastest lap done and then it was just control + think the runner up might had some damage.

Pretty tight in the midfield, with a few bobbles making the difference.
Bummer Csaba lost it after the S/F line ( I had too many of those in practice).
Wondering how Dennis blew up on L1..
John seemed to use up tires like I go thru salsa.
And Phil, I was liking your hard tire strat way before John blabbed about it last time;)

  10. It was fun to join my first online race/ It was only the shortest one ever since my engine blew at the start :)
Scott Ring, I think because I was using the Renault engine and since RFactor is a realistic sim this is what happens in real life :D
It probably happened because I forgot to change the Engine map to Race instead of Qualy mode.
Did everybody do 1 stint or did you do a pitstop to change tires?

I did one pitstop. Med wasn't cutting it on this track.

Not sure why the engine blew up so early on. I had used the same mode, Race Engine + Max boost in practice with no problem. I think I lost my attention of the revs.
This was my first race with my new equipment, a TM PC Racer wheel and T LCM pedals and I have been concentrating on its setup rather than the car. Love the pedals and there are a lot of setting to explore and the improved accuracy of the wheel is nice.
    Good bye G27.
In theory I should get faster.

Neither in qual or race you should let the revs run to the max. One or two blue lights and shift.

  14. The rev lights on the steering wheel are pretty dim when I drive the FSR2019 car. Can you make them brighter so that I can actually see them?

It's the same for all of us. Only the devs that made the mod can change that.
If you are driving in the evening, you could try to turn off the lights.

  16. ah ok so I have no excuse blowing up my engine then :)

Nope, sorry. If you don't let it rev to the max but shift on 1 blue light you should be fine.
Also don't use first gear at the green light. Use second or third. First is too stressful and too short to slam the throttle down aggressively.

  18. I normally upshift pretty quick to 2nd. I blame the Renault engine ;)

I was thinking over rev on too fast of downshifts was the problem. But my shifter is glitchy so I have been running with a few milliseconds delay (added in .plr file) which slows how fast I can shift which may be helping it live.

Also you can change your hud to move the tach lights into better eye line, I think the one I'm using is in here:
