    Welcome to the F1 Classic 1967 series season 2.

    Here you can find all the info you need to know about running in this series.

    History
    This mod did not come falling out of the sky. It's an evolution or a spin-off rather from its big brother "Grand Prix Legends" that came on the market in 1998. It was developed by the Papyrus Design Group and if ever a sim racing game made history and fame in the virtual racing world, its this game. From its release, it was unparalleled as a racing game simulator. The driving physics of the game were the best anyone had ever seen until then. The game was / is notorious for its difficulty in handling. Not because of bad designing, but because it was very, very hard to master the car with its hardcore simulation character. Only the die-hard petrolheads (of which there were quite a few) gave the game the time and love it needed to be mastered. The game is still so loved as a simulation, that even until the present day people are still driving it in GPL leagues.

    The Assetto Corsa version of the GPL F1 1967 game, has however been toned down a bit in terms of difficulty. You don't blow your engine as quick anymore with a miss shift and the cars have a lot more grip in the tires for example. The AC F1 1967 cars have become a bit more stable on corner entry and exit. But the core of the game has been preserved. You still have to steer the car through the corners with your brake, throttle and steering wheel, and you still have to keep that right foot in check on corner exit or you will be making donuts before the race ends. Besides that, the cars look absolutely beautiful now with the modern graphics with flames shooting out of the exhaust on downshifts and suspension that you can actually see moving up and down. Very cool.

    Verdict: 9/10

    In qualification you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
    If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

    This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

    I'm very glad to inform you that this series will be broadcasted again by Caitlin Penny.
    Wouldn't be the same without her! It's a great series, but she really sets the mood.

    Jukka Drugg | Who is that guy?

    I have a nice surprise for you all. Jukka Drugg had accepted my invitation to appear on the next episode of "How is that guy".
    I'm sure you are all curious to learn more about the man who won all 6 rounds he did in season 1 and what makes him so fast.
    Special thanks to Jukka for doing the interview with me. Enjoy!

    Race time is confermed 20:15 gmt?

    With recent legal time is too late for me, unfortunately i have to miss the serie

    Yes, it's 20.15 GMT.
    If it's also too late for other drivers, I'll try to make it 1 hour earlier.

    For me 19.15 gmt it's too early instead. In that case I won't be able to join the champ, so if you're planning to change it do not count on me :(

    I'm not changing yet. I'm asking people if it's also too late for them or not :).

    Maybe I just did some mistake with the time change. If 19.15 GMT means 21.15 CET it's ok for me.
    These time swapping makes me crazy every time :)

    Yes, that those times are correct. But it's still 20.15 GMT as of now.

    Did SRO changed to summertime? If it didn´t 1 hour earlier is too early for me. Planning on joining the series regardless other oblications.

    No, we are still on GMT. I'm moving the start time to 19:15 GMT, so we will start at the same time as season 1.
    GMT is now 2 hours before CET instead of 1 hour because of summertime.

  14. John vd Geest

    John vd Geest Administrator Staff Member Donator

    The times for events will stay the same as it was for season 1. I did this by moving the GMT times back 1 hour.
    Qual is 19.00 GMT
    Race = 19.15 GMT

    Summertime - time zone change

    As of March 31, summertime is in effect.
    That means that the clock in Britain has moved forward 1 hour from GMT and Central Europe has moved forward 2 hours from GMT.

    Sim Racing Online will stay on the GMT time zone. GMT has not changed. This means that all members have to adjust their calculations for the starting time for all events.
    Of course, you will only have to do this once to know the difference in time.

    BST = GMT + 1 hour
    CET = GMT + 2 hours

    For example, if the race starts at 19:15 GMT, then that would be:
    19:15 GMT = 20:15 BST
    19:15 GMT = 21:15 CET

    I see the server is still online for last seasons F1 '67. Would it be possible to update the server for the first round of this championship ?

    Are there any rules about pit stops in this series?

  18. John vd Geest

    John vd Geest Administrator Staff Member Donator

    Nope. Just floor it untill the finishline :)
    But some cars have additional weight for Balance of performance (BOP):
    Lotus = 40 kilo's
    Eagle = 40 kilo's
    Ferrari = 30 kilo's

    Alright. I'm signing up.

    edit: I won't be able to make the first race (they have the damn London Marathon that weekend), but I hope to make the rest.
