    Hi All,

Just need some help please on a new rig. I am looking at getting the SimLab GT1 rig at the moment but my problem is the seat. Can this rig take in any seat and if so what do I need to get to mount the seat? Now looking at a low cost option which was a GTOmega race seat but don't know if I can mount it. Could someone help please as an expensive mistake if I buy the wrong things.

    Cheers

Hi Andre, i have build my own rig, inspired by the GT1. (Materials by Motedis.com) What you have to determine is your seating hight and the choice if the seat will need sliders to go back and forward.
There is your lenght to consider and the angle from the wheel. The top of my wheel (Thrustmaster 500) is chin high. I mounted a Scheel custom car seat on perforated stainless steel L brackets to be able to raise or vary the angle of the seat. If you need any closeups or the measurents of anything, please pm me.

This is exactly what I wanted. Could you please let me know what i would need to order for same rig as that as this. Lengths etc would also be needed please. It looks fantastic but I use VR so don't need the monitor stand section. How much did it cost you all in? Also where did you get the brackets for the seat and will this work with all seats?

    Thank again for this.

I noticed on Motedis.com that there is now a simrig section added. Take a look here : https://www.motedis.com/shop/Friends-of/SIM-RIGs/Sim-Rigs-by-Michael-Herrmann:::200_989_919.html You can always add your wishes on a base frame. I'll check my archive tonight after the race, to see if i can help you with my measurements. I am 1.87 and about 85 kg. So my rig is really designed around me. I did the designing on a free program called Framedesigner : https://www.framexpert.com/products/framedesigner/

The brackets underneath the seat are not stainless steel, but galvanised and i found them in a local hardware/diy shop. They are normaly used for connecting wooden beams.

Edit: here is the pdf with basic measurements from my rig : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ntzk163xsra2dcz/R. Postma rig 2018-10-11_24954.pdf?dl=0

Looking at getting this anyone's thoughts please? I have a new Fanatec CSL Elite wheel and have a Fanatec CSL pedal set including the loadcell unit. This look nice and seen a few reviews which thought it was nice to use. What do you all think?
