    Welcome to round 6 Stardust

The Stardust International Raceway was an auto racing track in present-day Spring Valley, Nevada, in the Las Vegas Valley. It featured a flat, 3-mile (4.8 km), 13-turn road course, and a quarter-mile drag strip. Some track maps depicted the road course with 10 numbered turns. Stardust International Raceway was developed in 1965 by the Stardust Racing Association, a Nevada corporation headed by the primary owner of the Desert Inn and Stardust hotel-casinos.

The track was developed ostensibly to attract high rollers to the Stardust hotel. The Stardust Racing Association also owned the property and functioned as event promoter. In 1966 it began hosting the season finale of the Can-Am championship. In 1968 the USAC Championship Car series held a race at Stardust. The drag strip hosted the NHRA Stardust National Open in 1967, 1968, 1969, and 1971. The Stardust Racing Association was dissolved on April 1, 1968, 1 day after the USAC Stardust 150.

The hotel and raceway were sold in January 1969 to the Parvin-Dohrmann Corporation, and the new ownership closed the track shortly thereafter. Larry Horton, the track's manager, re-opened the drag strip in August 1970 and ran drag racing events until October 1971. Real estate developers Pardee Homes acquired the Stardust International Raceway property and related adjacent properties in August 1970 and built the Spring Valley community. Pardee commenced residential development on a portion of the property as drag racing events were still in operation directly adjacent. A subsequent racing facility, the Las Vegas Speedrome, opened in 1972 across from Nellis Air Force Base. The Speedrome property was later redeveloped into the current Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

I see that the server is now up, but I can't connect to it. AC just crashes while trying to connect. I tried reinstalling the track, it didn't help. Offline works. Anybody else having problems?

We have recently switched to a new game server hosting company and they use their own custom server manager software, which we are still getting our heads around.
I hope you won't mind driving with random skins for this last round.

Anyone else having visual glitches with this track in VR? Big black stripes on the sand going in the distance in the sand. I have them a lot around those zig-zag turns. Might be a CSP bug or track but I tried several tracks just now and I don't have it on those.

Yes, i have them too. Only around the edge of the track for me. Looking at 90 deg especially when i am in the sand which is quite often.

Not sure why we're running this track when there are so many other options. Fits the era well but it's horrendous.

Never on the track indeed.. But you see them from on the track. Ok, track issue then.

I agree.. I actually just drove it for the first time less than 2 hours ago and the only reason I would race is to keep the podium for the championship.

Did Tim post the updated cameras for the circuit anywhere?

    Hi all,
Apologies again, I won't be able to join today. All good here apart from being extraordinarily busy.
All the best with the race.

I'm going to try this track just now unfortunately, so am not sure I wouldn't be a mobile chicane by the race time. In this case I won't race with you guys, sorry.

As I understood it John added them to the track before uploading. If the camera's show the cars you have mine - If they show utter nonsense then they are the stock track cams :D

Personally I really like the track as it's very accurate to the GPL version - but even when you ignore the lack of any scenery to begin with the textures etc are terrible.

Actually it has its charm imo, but as asked before the race, souldn't anyone have switched on the light ?! Really, on my screen, despite 14h00 local time, it was like 22h00 or something, and I never saw any sun in this sky. Add to that the very poor scenery and when you have a car in front of you, you have litterally no clue of what's coming on so that it was mistakes and mistakes, fortunately not to the someone else's depends.
Really, next time a race is ran in those brigthness conditions, I just quit my car on the tarmac and go eating some classic cars onboards on youtube.
