    History
    The idea of building the track was born in 1974. The track was created in 1975–1977 as a result of cooperation between the Automobile Club of Wielkopolska and the Agricultural Car Factory "Polmo" in Poznań - the manufacturer of the Tarpan car , which was to test its products here (factory director, Andrzej Bobiński was also the president Automobile Club of Wielkopolska). The short time from idea to construction is the result of winning the favor of Andrzej Jaroszewicz , a rally driver, son of Prime Minister Piotr Jaroszewicz . The idea was also actively supported by Jerzy Zasada , First Secretary of the Polish United Workers' Party KW in Poznan.

    The track was built on the site of a former military training ground . Old, unused runways from Ławica airport were used . The car and motorcycle track was officially opened on December 2, 1977, and the karting track three years later, on October 18, 1980. The designer was Ing. Mieczysław Biliński, and he advised on details including Bernie Ecclestone . The track rode among others Robert Kubica, Michael Schumacher , Lewis Hamilton , Jackie Stewart and Marc Gené.

    The opening of the track was graced by the race for the cup of the machine industry minister, Aleksander Kopcia . In the competition took off incl. Andrzej Jaroszewicz ( Polish Fiat 125p ) and Adam Smorawiński ( Porsche 911 ). The comments compared the track to American Road America in the state of Wisconsin , and even indicated that Poznań is more difficult. A nearby construction of indoor stands for 50,000 spectators was announced, which, due to economic problems in the Polish People's Republic, never happened. In June 1979, the Formula 1 Wolf WR5 car was presented at the facility (Andrzej Jaroszewicz was sitting behind the wheel)

    I got in a panic and was about to post apologizing for missing the final race of the season to drive a family member to the Dentist during race time tomorrow . . . then I remembered the races are bi-weekly.

    Well I hope your new ISP is good! I have a work meeting at 1800 UTC tomorrow that may also clash but it's "Only" scheduled for 30 minutes . . . that will probably change as they always seem to run long. Will do by best to be there, though! Excited for DRM after this champ, best of luck to all the front runners!

    Good fun guys. Congrats Toni on the win!! Congrats Laurent on the Championship!! Caitlin, thank you for your broadcasting throughout these races. Kicking some a$$ you guys.

    Everyone drove awesome. Felt the pressure from Mac. My exact words were, "Why doesn't she leave me alone!"

    I'm driving my ass off and don't get 1 centimeter closer to Mac. Damn .... :)
    What bothered me about the Ford Escort in this series is the enormous inside wheelspin you get on acceleration in the lower gears.
    Therefore I'm giving the car a new name .... Ford Fishtail

    Its what we race for. Mutual respect but still flat out trying to win like no other.
    Its not common when racing for P1 and people usually do stupid things.
