As a reminder, we sometimes review our events to make sure drivers are staying between the lines. A recent review showed instances of rough driving and punting which resulted in cars leaving the track. These instances have been noted and repeat offenders will be penalized. I am specifically referring to a recent event in the SEAT Leon series but I want to take this opportunity to remind ALL drivers of the penalty related to causing an accident or punting.

If you cause an accident or punt another driver you must serve a drive-through penalty before the event is completed. Failure to complete a drive-through could result in a more serious penalty, such as a race ban.

Use common sense in evaluating your situation. For example:

If you knock someone off track but you can give the position back in a short amount of time and without impeding other drivers, then that should be an acceptable outcome and most likely no protest would be filed. If you cause damage to the other car and cause a retirement, you should consider imposing a penalty on yourself in case a protest is filed against you.

If you cause a driver to go off track but cannot safely give the position back, do the drive-through immediately. It's the quickest and most fair way to serve the penalty and will satisfy the stewards if a protest is filed.

If you cause a driver to crash and never lift off the throttle and never serve the penalty, that is not acceptable and could result in a race ban.

One more rule to remember. We have implemented the "Use of Esc key in Qualifying" rule. Use of the ESC key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. If you do this in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to track.
