I don't think you are that far away from our position Kimi...
There is a good overlapping of classic years. We also love a good sound and drivable mod and are relatively flexible with setups although less precious than you with our own... But I don't see much disagreement.

Democracy lives intensively on SRO, this is fine with me ! :)

But Kimi loves to be in disagreement with me ! :p (Disclaimer : it's just a joke mate)
Still, Jos is right to me : if we all of us can have pleasure driving some classic cars, then our positions can't be that far from each other.. ;)

Could we maybe set up a strawpoll or separate post just for voting? There's a lot of posts in here and the actual submissions are getting buried by discussion.

Ballast and power restriction doesn't really work - but I have figured out how to make this work in a different and arguably authentic manner - but I'm about 4 hours into the back room work required to make a series of my own using this plan, and wouldn't describe myself as even halfway done. It also requires drivers to read the race announcements and practice so they can work out fuel burns etc. so after the 1st race I imagine the grid will likely halve because of all the people who don't RTFM and just go off in a sulk :D

Fixed setup is actually less fair than a free setup - who ever makes the setups or happens to drive in a matter that suits the stock ones has a massive advantage.
My setups are massively understeery on old cars as I steer with the brakes and throttle, hence why I get on well with the M1 and Porsches' in the DRM series

Don't know if it's been updated since I last tried it - but it was pretty shonky in a number of regards when I did. Also as it covers a range of classes, displacements and years it's very unbalanced for car V car racing.

If I hadn't nearly finished preparing my own balanced series I'd suggest DTM....

I'm going to use the signature below for a while for all platforms to help remind / inform people who don't read the regulations on the event pages.
It's not a warning or being strict, but more like a ... "Oh yeah, forgot about that, or Oh, I didn't know that" kind of thing.

Votes and Submissions of mods have moved

As Mac Shepherd requested we have moved all posts with submitted mods to vote on to a separate thread so it doesn't get mixed up with all the discussion.
It's now a "vote and submission" only thread.

If you would like to discuss the mods there, please do that in this thread.

So from now on please place your mods suggestions and votes in this thread: Vote & Submission thread only

Got all the above plus the GTn cars and some of the more interesting free stuff.
Very impressed with the 5 minutes per car I put in before the race tonight

Up for a series in any of them:)

Yeah, I voted for the RSS GT-1/Group-N GT series Jos suggested.

    The cars are fantastic.

I'm genuinely worried about the BOP being wonky like in DRM if any of the Bazza packs win. Will have to see how the vote shakes up.

The Legends Prototype mod is on top of the voting currently. That's great. I also like the mod.
But know what you vote for. The mod is all over the place in terms of BOP.

The big question is .... have you tested the mod before voting for it? Do you know what you're voting for?
If everyone picks the best and fastest car, you could end up with only 2 or 3 car makes on the grid.

I would also like to drive it, but I'm easy with demands. I'm not one for perfection per sé.

I also don't know if the BOP can be adjusted. The GTL mod didn't allow for it and the Prototype mod is from the same dev.
You will probably have to drive it as it is. Just realize that.

Yeah, and there is no BOP whatsoever in the whole DRM mod either. I'm talking with all the cars put together on the grid, like we run now - it's as it is. Having a mix of drivers running at different speeds is what makes that colorful grid work.

Fully agree. I would think this mod is a fun choice. But I know that it is like the current F1 field and I'm wondering if everybody knows that.
If someone didn't test this mod, he should to know what it is.

I guess the thing I'm concerned about is exactly this. There are more closely matched packs or one-makes available in the list that are more suitable for league racing. But a lot of people tend to vote for things that aren't balanced or they can't drive and the quality of the racing suffers for it.

I don't find having substandard drivers get mixed up in my races enjoyable. Maybe that's just me. It was impossible to race for the Div. II champ because of Div. I Car interference and I'd like to avoid it again if all possible. Hopefully, Proto legends (if it wins) will be better in that regard - especially if we keep it to a single class instead of a class split.

Either way, I'm taking a Joke car for the championship, because I can. Maybe the Lola T280 because I hate myself and want to blow up engines constantly.

Yeah, I think that's frustrating and understandable. DRM wasn't raced as a multi-class anyway, but as separate division 1 and division 2 races. With something like 100 - 160 km race distances (so laps, not timed). So that would be 40-60 minutes races. And this either division 1 or division 2 is what I wanted to go for also. They only did a couple of bigger special races with both divisions together during a season, such as Nurburgring (Nordschleife) 6H or 1000 km, but that's a big track and longer endurance races. But it was always like this. Plus the cars are beasts and this mod is hard to drive, especially if you just jump in without some large previous experience. And there's always people in the grid either new to simracing or with lack of time or interest for some good practice in getting their speeds up. I can't be hard on anyone like that, it's also understandable. Well, what I meant by colorful grid was like "it looks good on TV" with so many different cars. This still did look good so far overall, only if drivers at least knew their particular cars, they wouldn't mess up or crash each other out easily.

Hahahhh well kind of also "looks good on TV"

BTW I just proposed this combo from DRM mod.

1977/78 division 2 cars: BMW 320 vs Ford Escort.
Same year cars practically. Performance says different, but proven very well balanced against each other in terms of top speed and lap times around pretty much any track. If you want drivers championship but not just with one same car, this is it. There are 10 real skins for BMW and 13 real skins for Escort from 1978. There are a couple more, like those fake skins and two 77 season Escorts with different starting numbers. If we do get a lot of drivers interested, we might need those additional skins.
