    With immediate effect for a trial period, we are introducing an Assetto Corsa user skin naming convention to be used for SRO series, for anybody who wants to use their own personal car skin. This is to make the process of server setup much easier and consistent, which has been more difficult than it needed to be in the past when everybody has been using their own ideas on skin naming.

    The skin folder name should be "SRO_Carnumber_UserlastnameInitial" e.g. "SRO_42_JaggerK"

    The ui_skin.json file skinname entry should follow this scheme:
    {
    "skinname": "SRO JaggerK 42",
    "drivername": "Ken Jagger",
    "country": "UK",
    "team": "Team Name",
    "number": "42"
    }

    Make sure that the folder name does not include any spaces.

    After a trial across a couple of series, the format above for skin naming must now be used for any AC submitted skins to be used in SRO events.

    Are there any requirements in terms of visuals?
    As in, number plates, fonts, numbering, colours.

    Are there any standards that should be met?

    Also, any deadline for submitting a skin for it to be available in an upcoming event?
    a day, 3 days, a week?

    Check out our Rules & Regs Forum which cover this in general terms. https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/forums/sim-racing-online-racing-rules-and-regulations.158/

    Very occasionally an SRO Series Host may include mandatory requirements for screen visors or door number panels, but otherwise skins are design free.

    When skin packs need to be pre-compiled into a package for other SRO members to DL and install, skins are generally only accepted before the series starts and a cut-off date is usually stated in the series forum as necessary. But for those sims that do not need skin install e.g. RF2 then you are free to create/use whenever you want as we allow skin downloads from the server.

    So joining the RSS GT1 series, mid season with a new custom skin is not doable? :(

    We follow the process I defined in post #6 for several reasons.
    With the multitude of series we run at SRO, it takes a considerable amount of Admin time, both visible and behind the scenes, to manage the creation, setup and running of them. To recompile a new skin pack for one car every time somebody joins the series part way through, which then requires participating members to have to re-download and install the skin pack is unreasonable, when races are only two weeks apart.
