Not necessarily the server Lorne, could be lots of things to blame on the network side.

Check the Customize screen in the car selection menu Toni. There are tyre choices in there, so you must've had the wrong one set. You need it to be "2018 Default" if you are using the 2018 car, which gives you access to all compounds.

Well done everyone and congrats to the podium finishers :)

My race went ok, a little later on the server than I would like but got a decent qualifying lap in. About half a second off my best.

Got a clean start, avoided the chaos at turn one and up to 6th or 7th in front of Ken. Was doing ok but I made the rookie mistake of looking in my mirrors when Ken went wide towards the end of the lap. Missed my braking point and nearly dropped to last. Bugger…lol

So just battled my way back. I think I had pace for maybe top 8 but just couldn’t make the progress I wanted to. Lots of cars battling. Some looking like they were torturing their tyres too.

Ran long, banged in some fast laps but my stop was too long maybe and this didn’t work. Battled back to 10th.

Managed to get the softs working well. Consistent times so pretty happy.

I think this was going to be my worst track so we’ll see how round two goes. :)

got a good start but then got caught out in the carnage as I was on the outside line into turn 1 and had to take to the gravel to avoid kostas which put me near the back, happy to recover to 4th.

    To begin with...

then I started my chase, I made up for lost time and a few positions, the car was damaged so it wasn't perfect. I entered the pitline less than 5 seconds behind third place.
I drove to my garage, but the entire field was occupied by Roman, so I had to wait (15-20 seconds / eternity)

I leave somewhere around 10th position and start the chase again. I reach the finish line in P5. A good result for such a long break from racing. But? as usual, it could have been better

PS. Please occupy half the position when refueling!

I'm sorry that I kept you so long. I just recently started racing in RF2, I didn't know that you can take up half the space when refueling, usually each car has its own place. I raced in PCARS and PCARS2 for a long time, for one year in AMS2, there were never any problems with pit stops so that someone got in the way by taking up too much space.

That pit spot thing is probably something special from rf2 and it was already in rfactor 1. I mean it is realistic in some way, because I belive you get that issue, when you are driving for the same team. Not sure if all Trident cars shared the same pit spot, but there is a correlation. That was the reason I switched the team from Trident to ART (where it was less likely to encounter that), although stupid me forgot to change the refuel setting...
So I pitted and no fuel for me.

Anyway nice to race again at Kuala Lumpur, I like that track even though I was way too slow. I will take the learnings from it and hopefully it gets better next time. Oh and I could not belive how like I was to not hit anyone in the first lap  If want to see that, my personal highlight was that Trident sandwich with an ART in between.

I left trident by default, probably for the next race we should choose some other team, I hope there are many of them, so as not to repeat such moments at the pit stop. Toni seemed to have the best setup, showing 1.46.5 possible lap on hard is very strong. I couldn’t do that on hard during my training

I really enyojed the race! In Q I managed a really good lap, P4. Then in race I had an awful start, which was the reason I left the first corners untouched :) Found myself in P2 and had a really good pace, tried to push on Roman for P1, but didn't manage it. I tried with undercut, I came out P1, but just.. Toni must have made a great lap and almost beat me. But after pits my pace was much slower (or maybe the pace of Roman and Toni was much better :) ) and after a mistake I was P3.
Great race, I hope I find time to learn the next (very long) track and participate in next event! Great competition and fair driving from all!

The Magnificent Park track layout we will be using is the National version at only 3.75 miles long :)

EDIT - I should've said the "International" layout which is 3.75 miles long. The longer layout is the Endurance layout.

I’m kinda glad you said that, I watched an onboard YouTube RF2 video last night in a GP3 style car. Endurance layout? I think it was a 4 minute plus lap. Lol.

Mega fast track though, will be interesting for sure.
