rFactor 2 Round 1 Phillip Island 2022 - 2024-01-14

Admittedly this mod has been really unstable with a few tracks off line for no apparent reason.

 

This is why testing events are usually carried out. some leagues even do 2 test events

 

Crashed on startup again.

 

I've been trying to get on for 50 mins.

Congrats to P1 and the podium..enjoyable race as always, had contact with @Neil Wood on lap 2, felt like I had decent pace after that, up to 2nd as the pit stops took place, and there it all went down hill, just as I finished my stop @Giuseppe Baldoni crashed into me in the pits, couldn't drive with the damage so back around again for another this time lengthy stop, couldn't find my rhythm after that. What's the deal with cars and different teams sharing the same pit box?? On to the next

 

Fabulous racing tonight. I was so pleased when the server issue got fixed. My laptop hates RF2 so I thought it was me!
These cars are beasts. Such an exciting car to drive with the engine thundering in my headphones.
Some great racing at the back with @stephenwenham and @Gilles da'Silva - really enjoyed it. Didn't bother pitting as my tyres weren't really tested! Kept out of the way of the lapping drivers but that bloody tow truck in my mirror on the last turn had me panicking nearly every lap. A few silly offs due to lack of concentration but at least I didn't get stuck spinning in the grass for 2 minutes like I did in practice.

Kudos to the podium for taming such a technical track; to SRO admin for managing to get the event up and running; to @Rob Milliken for broadcasting the race, despite a bitter winter storms best effort to prevent him; to the track builders who created such a wonderfully detailed circuit and finally to 'Aptora' for once again being gracious enough to sponsor a SimRacingOnline series.

Great track, lots of detail, glad I made it for this one. I had some practice, but need to try and do more so I can get up to a faster consistent speed for the race. Decided to go a bit longer on tyres as I wasn't sure about wear. Obviously I wasn't pushing enough as I saw a lot of the field pitting before me on pretty dodgy looking grip
Anyway, managed to stay on the track and finished 9th which was above my expectations. Looking forward to the next one.
