Yep, did all that. Nothing works. Custom skins don't show up at all.

Caitlin, I'm sure you've installed skins many times. Do the Mas files look like Mas files?

When you downloaded the skin-pack, did the Mas files in the downloaded folder look like Mas files, before you put them into your rF2 folder?

It's only if they are set to open with the mas2 app, they don't need to be associated with the app to work.

@Maddie Shepherd Have you followed my guide to install skins?
    https://sites.google.com/view/racing-sim-pitstop/rfactor-2-tutorials/custom-skins (Method 1)

These skins won't show up in the car list btw... they will only be choosable from the customise menu of the car you put them in.

If it helps to start from scratch, choose the car you want to drive, press customise then create new folder. Then pop the mas file in the respective folder it creates (it's shown in the showroom).

    Re-uploaded the skin pack

I have re-uploaded the skin pack (upper right corner) by uploading the pack through Sim Racing Online instead of Mediafire.
This should work for everyone :)

First unpack the skin pack. Every car from every brand has a custom skin. Select the one you want.

    Remember:
    - You don't have to install the complete skin pack, only the skin for the car that you are going to drive.

    For example, if you want the F1 1939 Tuned Mercedes nr. 20;

    1. in rFactor 2, first select the F1 1939 Tuned nr. 20 car and go to Customize
    2. then create a new folder
    3. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\player\Settings and find the Folder "F1 1930s"
    4. inside the folder F1 1930s you will find the folder that you have created
    5. put the Mercedes nr. 20 "custom skin pack from the skin pack" inside that folder
    6. go back to rF2 and select the Mercedes nr. 20 / go to Customize / click on "+" and then "Alt" / go back and forth until you find your custom skin.

It sounds like an anti-virus or firewall issue.

Maddie - if you let me know which car, car number and colour you want to use, I'll make and send one to you.

Got it working. Thanks for the help. Turns out that I somehow had a showroom mod installed (not sure why or how) and that was messing up the previews.

    Good one!
Best of luck at the races.
(The offer still stands if you don't find a car & colour combo you like)

Is the Mercedes the easiest/best car of the pack? Just seems like everyone's used it for practice so far haha.

Also, what's the pitlane speed limit set at?

    Drivers briefing

    1. Reims Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 50% damage
    5) This event has a standing start without a formation lap.

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. You can find the password for the race server on the Reims event page.

    4. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    5. Please use the
same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    6. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    7. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event
