Welcome to Round 5 Zandvoort 1967

    HISTORY
    1930s to mid 1980s
    [IMG]
    1961 Dutch Grand Prix

There were plans for races at Zandvoort before World War II: the first street race was held on 3 June 1939. However, a permanent race track was not constructed until after the war, using communications roads built by the occupying German army. Contrary to popular belief John Hugenholtz cannot be credited with the design of the Zandvoort track, although he was involved as the chairman of the Nederlandse Automobiel Ren Club (Dutch Auto Racing Club) before becoming the first track director in 1949.[2] Instead, it was 1927 Le Mans winner, S. C. H. "Sammy" Davis who was brought in as a track design advisor in July 1946[3] although the layout was partly dictated by the existing roads.

The first race on the circuit, the Prijs van Zandvoort, took place on 7 August 1948.[4] The race was renamed the Grote Prijs van Zandvoort (Zandvoort Grand Prix) in 1949, then the Grote Prijs van Nederland (Dutch Grand Prix) in 1950. The 1952 race was the first to be run as a round of the World Championship, albeit to Formula Two regulations rather than Formula One regulations like all the European rounds of the championship that year; a similar situation also applied to the 1953. There was no Dutch Grand Prix in 1954, 1956 or 1957, but 1955 saw the first true Formula One race as part of the Drivers' Championship. The Dutch Grand Prix returned in 1958 and remained a permanent fixture on the F1 calendar (with the exception of 1972) through 1985, when it was held for the last time in the 20th century.

Trackbuilder Sergio Loro has given me permission to offer this DLC track for free to our SRO members.
Sergio is not selling this track anymore, because he told me that the AI "gets screwed up" with updates from S397 and he's tired of fixing it.
The AI comes into the pits at the end of every lap, after going out, so you can not race them.
But for online racing the track is all good.

The name of this track is of course Zandvoort, but for copyright issues, the track name is Sandevoerde.
    The track contains 2 layouts; 1965 & 1967. We are using 1967.
You can download the track from the Zandvoort event page.

Zandvoort 67 is pretty epic and I thought after Sergio Loro's permission, it would be a shame not to use it and the event is still a few months away.
Do you object to the swap?

Both excellent tracks... and I already bought Zandvoort :D

Does the 65 one vary from the 67? I can't remember!

Indeed, and now I can give this DLC to all SRO members for free.
I have gone about this the wrong way. I should have done a poll for the swap. Would you like me to do a poll, or do we leave Zandvoort as official?

Basically not. They both don't have the chicane.

I dunno what other members think, but I know Nords would probably be too tough to race on considering the difficulty of these cars (I like lapping on it, but racing i'm not a fan of).

If the attrition for Reims is an indication, should Hockenheim move to that slot? It's up to what the other drivers want to do though. I wouldn't want the numbers to dwindle of this series.

    Drivers briefing

    1. Zandvoort 67 Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 50% damage
    5) This event has a standing start without a formation lap.

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. You can find the password for the race server on the Zandvoort 67 event page.

    4. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    5. Please use the
same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    6. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    7. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

Is the race at 7pm (now) or in an hour? Schedule page says qualifying should be around now because of the clocks changing here.
