Tl;dr: can't perform my mobile chicane duties tonight because . . I book bands for my Club and often go see them perform. Had a Springsteen tribute last night and one of our barmaids managed to drag me onto the dance floor. I don't dance. But on the very rare occasions when I do, I put my heart and soul into it (Not a pretty sight!) The BBC spent two days in the Club this week, filming for a new show called 'Blood On The Dance-floor'. Now there wasn't any blood on the dance-floor last night, but I'm pretty damn sure a couple of my vital organs have shut down! I can barely walk or talk today and feel like I've been in a (non virtual) car crash I'm paying for it now . . . but boy was it worth it! Great night! Hopefully I'll have recuperated in time for the final race at Bugatti GLA Have fun.
Well, this happened to me too. just connection lost. from a confident 1st position 5 minutes before the finish. And this is why I really dislike the SRO points system. All I have to do is get into trouble like this once and I lose the championship
Zero practice, thought its starting at usual time little later so minimal time to put any laps in. Went better than expected.
Qualifications: P2 I don't think more could be achieved Race: The plan was to survive the start and then it would be okay. It was quite good, I kept my position and was fast, I kept the right distance behind Roman and we rode for half an hour. The second stint was also fast, unfortunately I had problems with lapped drivers, plus a small mistake and 2 seconds turned into 4 seconds. The leader's technical problems ensured victory, but without full satisfaction. The championship will be decided in two weeks. See you.
got a poor start as the quick change surprised me then braked too late and missed the chicane loosing more places. Managed to get back into fourth close behind my team mate robin but did not allow for the dirty air at the long right hander at turn 3 and under-steered off barely avoiding the barrier, rejoined in 9th. spent the next 20 mins trying to make up as many places as possible before the pit stop, but by the time I got behind toni my left front was finished and could not close so decided to stop early only for toni to do the same thing on the same lap, for some reason he had a slow stop and I was up to 3rd after all the pit stops and then second when Roman disconnected. Michal & Romans pace was amazing so there was no chance of fighting for the top spot this time but happy to recover to 2nd.
Out of curiosity, which point system would by better in such cases? To my race, again quali was not too shabby, but the race stays a concern. It is funny, how rfAnalyzers states that my tyre deg is not that bad. But when I look more closely, then my front left deg was still pretty bad. The statistic looks good, because I have a very low deg on the rear tyres Still not sure, what the takeway is from that. Ken told me the medium is the better tyre than the soft, but I see some disagree with that. Could be an option for the last race, but who knows. Anyway, result is ok, even without the two discos. I wish you guys better luck next time, although it seems Kostas does not get a breake. Oh dear.
That's a real shame bud. after leading for 95% of the race perhaps there should be a system where points are awarded. Not a bad race, I felt like I had decent pace at times, I'm not sure if it was the dirty air or the extra speed from the tow but it caught me out multiple times and nearly ended my race, got to the finish in the end, Good fight @Matej Dakskobler you didn't need to let me pass after you went wide, you left enough room but I just got myself onto the grass.
Not a bad race, a track I enjoy. Managed some brief practice and got a good setup. Amazing to think they used to race 1,000hp Champcars around here. Wasn't sure between softs or mediums but settled on soft tyres in the end which lasted ok. Got a good start, made up a few places, then as usual for me I got caught out by a slow car nearly coming to a stop into turn two, hit the brakes to avoid contact and spun round. Lost about 5 seconds recovering. My pace was ok, I was lapping in the low 2's, car felt good. Caught Ed but just couldn't quite get the move done, but he then got sideways into the final corner so I got a good tow into turn one and managed to pulled away. Did my planned stop but although I tried to change it as I arrived in the pitlane I was short filled by about a lap, so had to stop again towards the end. I'm not sure if it's just my pace or strategy but I seem to be losing huge amounts of time at my pitstops. Are you guys always starting with full tanks? My pace was ok, but I still finished two laps down. lol. Admittedly the second stop didn't help! Well done to everyone who finished. I'll finish to season for sure but I certainly do miss the Oreca 07. lol.
I'd be interested to hear that too. Points are awarded are as long as you complete 1 lap of the race. Roman earned 12 points leaving him only 2 points adrift of 1st place in the series, with one round remaining.
