    WELCOME TO ROUND 5 BATHURST

Mount Panorama Circuit is a motor racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on Mount Panorama and is best known as the home of the Bathurst 1000 motor race held each October, and the Bathurst 12 Hour event held each February. The track is a 6.213 km (3.861 mi) long street circuit, which is used as a public road when no racing events are being run, with many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit.

The track has an unusual design by modern standards, with a 174 m (571 ft) vertical difference between its highest and lowest points, and grades as steep as 1:6.13. From the start-finish line, the track can be viewed in three sections; the short pit straight and then a tight left turn into the long, steep Mountain straight; the tight, narrow section across the top of the mountain itself; and then the long, downhill section of Conrod Straight, with the very fast Chase and the turn back onto the pit straight to complete the lap.

Historically, the racetrack has been used for a wide variety of racing categories, including everything from open-wheel racers to motorcycles. With tighter safety regulations and less tolerance of risk, motorcycle racing is no longer conducted at the circuit, and open-wheel racing events did not occur for many years until a Formula 3 event was added as a support race for the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2012. It was registered as a Grade 3 racing circuit by the FIA, though this registration was listed to expire in August 2021 and there is no indication of whether the track's owners have applied to continue its registration. Grade 3 racing circuits are permitted to hold FIA-sanctioned events with cars with a weight/power ratio of 2–3 kg/hp, which includes all current Australian domestic racing categories except S5000 (which were consequently modified to reduce maximum power for the event held there).

As a public road, on non-race days and when it is not closed off during the day as part of a racing event, Mount Panorama is open to the public. Cars can drive in both directions around the circuit for no charge. A strict speed limit of 60 km/h (37 mph) is enforced, and police regularly patrol the circuit. The National Motor Racing Museum is located next to the Mount Panorama Circuit.

The venue's infield and pit parking served as the home of the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships.

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcasted
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    Broadcaster_final_Rob_small.jpg
    2. Bathurst Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a Formation lap with a standing start
    - Tires: you can select the tire compound for Qual and Race in the Customize menu.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. FORMATION LAP & STANDING START
At the end of the formation lap, please make sure you are lined up properly:
    1) Find your grid position (the red square)

    2) Move up slowly to the RED ARROW until it disappears and brake.

    5. You can find the password for the race server on the Bathurst event page.

    6. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    7. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    8. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    9. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

can we get an admin to restart the server? There are idlers sitting in a race session so no one can join.

Can someone please restart the server practice session. We're stuck in race session because 6 people deciding they don't want to vote half the time and/or are afk... *shrugs

    Thank you.

ETA: 6 people sitting in the server, almost all DNF at this point and yet not enough to vote. No one else can get in or practice until session is changed. I don't understand why those sitting don't leave the server.
....should be penalty for doing such, imo - especially after 20 mins or so has went by and some of us trying to get enough votes up to switch it.

Pretty challenging combo... can't say I didn't clipped any walls, just glad I made it to the end.
Gratz to anyone who finished in one piece.

the most unsuccessful race, except for GP3, where I got disconnected 5 minutes before the victory. wrong choice of tires and as a result a stupid mistake that led to great damage.

My steering was bent by a spinner in sector 2. That makes Bathurst quite interesting on worn tyres. In the end it snapped into the wall. That was a shame.

It is never OK to crash (unsuspecting) drivers after the chequered. No matter what has happened in a race and how frustrated you might be, it's not worth giving another driver broken wrists if they are using a direct drive!!

    Very tough combo.
Lap 1 - someone had spun at the top and couldn't wait so turned on front of me. Clipped him, damaged my steering. Span myself further down.
Span another couple of times during the race, apologies to the racer that clipped me as I was facing the wrong way just over the hill.
Went to pits 3 times for damaged steering.
Apart from that, I was mighty pleased to finish and pretty much keep out of the way.
Superb drive Matteo! You passed me very smoothly on many occasions.

Good race, I enjoyed the first laps, then it was a bit boring, even if you can never relax on this track, the walls are always so close... Too bad for your mistake Roman, I would have like to battle with you a little more, the first few laps I felt like I was able to keep up with you and have a little more, due to your tire choice.
I saw the race now, great battle between you and Neil, congratulations to both of you

    You weren't alone Riccardo :(
Half-way through the race and half-way up the mountain, my display suddenly went black and didn't come back!
Esc did nothing. Couldn't turn off rFactor. Eventually used the power button to switch off my PC.
Hope during my 'black-out' I didn't affect anyone else's race.
Apart from that, great fun as ever.
Congrats to podium and big thanks to APTORA.
    See you in Adelaide :)

    WHAT!!!!!
    Bored at Bathurst????
A whole Nation just came to a sudden standstill in total disbelief :)
As an Australian, if I hadn't just gone into a catatonic shock, I'd probably feel offended :D
    Congrats on the win Matteo.

Watched it all on You-tube and had a great time. Well done by all... Great finish but, the ramming after the race was totally uncalled for, deserves penalty for that for sure if not a ban for a bit.

It is necessary to punish not for ramming AFTER the race, but for rough rubbing DURING the race. I drive 10 laps behind a slower car and don’t allow myself such dirt, but they push me off the line in the first turn where such an opportunity arises. I never write protests, but I’m not a whipping boy and I don’t see any reason to try to make me out to be an aggressor here

Hi Gilles we all agree that Bathurst is a fantastic track, my race was a bit boring because I didn't battle with anyone, not because of the track. I still hope that if I come to Australia one day you will offer me a beer ;)

Admins will only look at incidents if they are reported.

But crashing cars after the finish is not only immature but very dangerous. Also because this particular series is broadcast live, it makes SRO look bad.
