WELCOME TO ROUND 6 ADELAIDE STREET CIRCUIT

The Adelaide Street Circuit (also known as the Adelaide Parklands Circuit) is a temporary street circuit in the East Parklands adjacent to the Adelaide central business district in South Australia, Australia.

The 3.780 km (2.349 mi) "Grand Prix" version of the track hosted eleven Formula One Australian Grand Prix events from 1985 to 1995, as well as an American Le Mans Series endurance race on New Year's Eve in 2000 (Race of a Thousand Years). Between 1999 and 2020 and again from 2022, a shortened 3.219 km (2.000 mi) version of the circuit has been used for the Clipsal/ Adelaide 500 touring car race. It is also being used by the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

i had parcticed taht f1 86 or 88 version..but this was narrow aswell.
apparently you can cut as much as possible in T1 and what about sausages or were the cut thingy off on server?

The first chicane can be completely cut without any penalty, gaining almost a second. It's a bit risky but quite simple.
@John vd Geest It is better to clarify whether it is possible or not. It should not be permitted in qualy and race imo

    VERSION CHANGE TO ADELAIDE 1986

I can see many dark clouds on the horizon pre- and post-race about the cutting issue of primarily the first chicane.
So I have decided the following to prevent ongoing discussions about this and about who did what and how often and the penalties that should be given.

We will stay in Adelaide, but we will go back in time a bit further.
The added version of Adelaide will be: Adelaide 1986
This version is more exciting in my opinion and also has better overtaking opportunities.
Further more ... you will get a cut penalty if you cut the first chicane.

    Qualifying:
For this round we will have private qualifying. That means that everyone will qual at the same time, but you won't see them, so you can do your laps without other cars on track.

    SERVER IS UP!

Heads up! This track has a bug at the pitlane entry. The area on the left side is made of quicksand.
You will not sink, but you will have a hard time getting out of it. So don't overshoot.

Correct, it reflects the F1 1986 rules where the track came from :)
Safety wasn't as much of an issue back then. You could go through the pitlane at Warp speed.

I'm watching through the 80s F1 broadcasts now.... and it is scary the speed they go through the pits and how many people are there!

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcasted
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Adelaide Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a Formation lap with a standing start
    - Tires: you can select the tire compound for Qual and Race in the Customize menu.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. FORMATION LAP & STANDING START
At the end of the formation lap, please make sure you are lined up properly:
    1) Find your grid position (the red square)

    2) Move up slowly to the RED ARROW until it disappears and brake.

    5. You can find the password for the race server on the Adelaide event page.

    6. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    7. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    8. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    9. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

Very difficult circuit, I never felt safe racing here, and in fact I made a mistake after a few laps, congratulations Roman for the race and for the championship. I would like to thank the admins for the championship, and thanks to Rob for his great commentary

Q I hit something very large and too solid for my car. Q over.
R didnt get into rhytm at all and kept sliding. Had perfect start but so did P1 and P2. No pace and slipping all the time. 3rd stint was then good but i tried my best to undercut and everything possible but wasnt happening. @Roman Granatovich drove like a champ.

Yep, those car are something else... had to drive them at like 50%... always on edge of sliding...
Feel like I would need at least 2hours practice just to feel comfortable enough to push them fully (within the limit of my skill of course :)).

A shame I don't have a sequential shifter and a clutch in my current rig... driving those without any assist, full immersion, must be a blast.
Only drawback, is the fact that they tend to 'roll' too much on curb... but maybe it's be design, not sure...

Lot of tough combo and casualties but great racing here overall like usual... I'll keep a eye, in case this championship get another season. Till next.
