    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcasteded
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Le Mans Conditions
    1) The race will start at 06:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration = x 4. Fuel = normal / Tires = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a standing start with a (partial) formation lap. See post #20. Formation lap speed = ca. 120 km/h.
    6) This race has variable weather, see post #8
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) Advise: We are going into the night. Put your headlights on "auto" to avoid a DQ!
    9) YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAME CAR THROUGHOUT THE SERIES THAT YOU CHOOSE FOR YOUR FIRST EVENT.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    - You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Le Mans event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

Is there anything in the HUD that shows you what boost level your car is in?

Don't want to have to remember what boost I'm running all the time.

Really confusing race for me in general. Qualified 9th, started 10th (not sure who was out of position) and had a few little battles early on but quickly realised that my car's 5th gear was too short and I was topping out too quickly, which meant I didn't have any speed down the straights and couldn't really pass anyone there, so had to make up all my time under braking and cornering.

I stayed out a lap too late when it was raining and lost a bunch of time to cars who pitted earlier than me. I somehow managed to get a stop-go penalty for speeding in the pits during that stop, which I served a lap later. I then binned it on the Mulsanne Straight, damaging my front end and front-left suspension. I stayed out though as I was wanting to see when the track would dry out so I went into fuel-saving mode for the next 5-6 laps. I eventually pitted and opted to take another set of rain tyres. After that I went into full push mode and passed a few cars, with two or three passes in the last 3 laps. Not sure if they were fuel saving or decided to go onto the dry tyres, but I was a bit confused by it lmao.

Finished 6th, which I'm really happy with, considering how my race went and the awful setup. Congrats to @Nick Westy on the win.

    A few questions in general:

    1. For the tyres: Are the R500's the softs/qualifying tyre, with the R600's being a harder race tyre?
    2. My HUD said that the track had 5% minimum wetness, with 40% maximum. What does that mean in rFactor 2? The dry tyres seemed useless in practice when it was a similar level or wetness.
    3. Are there any general tips for setting the Porsche 962 up? Was a bit lost with it in general, and not sure if there's a meta or specific thing I should do.

    1. R500 are softer than R600
    2. The least wet point of the track has 5%, the wettest point of the track 40%
    3. As usual put the tyre pressure to the minimum value, aerodynamics settings have the greater impact on driveability, in Le Mans you need to have the lowest values, so the car is a bit lost

I had a good qualifying and a good start, then I had the presumption of being able to drive this monster with slicks in the wet and I was rightly punished. anyway Westy was on another level, congrats for the win

I was doing fuel calculation in the dark in my head and completely forgot where I was on track and then ... KABOMB ... in the guardrail.
That was a shame. I liked doing Le Mans in the dark on a wet track. First time for me in an online race in those conditions. That was quite an adventure :D.
It was a damn shame that I crashed the car just by day(night)dreaming.

Damn Nick went 1 lap longer than my calculation, full on quali mode! I didn't know that that was possible and still keep the car! Congrats, next race for me maybe Fuji.

Congrats to Nick. On another level. Grats to Robin for a well placed podium. Good racing to all drivers. John was doing some Mad Max moves into the wall. That was totally crazy. I did some stupid mistakes throughout the race and they wouldn't stop. Almost took out Barrett under braking. Don't know what I was thinking. Teammate Mark was fast. He was ahead of me for most of the race but somehow, toward the end, I notice a car catching and it's Mark! Don't know when that switch happened. Anyways, my rig was put to good use today.

    Cheers

    ESCAPE RULE IN QUALIFYING

I would like to remind everybody of the escape rule in qualifying.
The members that went back out in qual after pressing escape DNF'd, so they got off with a warning this time.
But from round 2 onwards, the rule will be enforced.

No Esc. on track rule in Qualification
In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.
