There's a glitch with the brake map setting in the setup. Needs to be on 0. If it's 1 or above the throttle sticks for some reason.

    Also, welcome back :D

I couldn't mess with brake mapping. anything hire than "0" and the throttle would just hang wide open.

First time driving with a Direct Drive wheel and my arms and hands got tires in the last 20 minutes. A lot of mistakes and spins and I dropped 3 places.
Maybe I need to go to the gym again so I can keep my pace up for 90 minutes :D

You picked a hell of a car to try it for the first time!! Don't feel too bad about turning it down.... A LOT :)

Car was all over the place in qualifying and the race but I was pretty happy with my lap. The bumps on the 88 tracks are awful for some reason and I couldn't fit it with the setup.

Had a poor run through Radillon on lap 1, allowing Nick to get the run on the straight and to pass me into Les Combes. After that I was in fuel management mode. Started on the hard tyres and intended on not changing them at the stop, giving me a free 20 seconds. In hindsight it would probably have been better to put new tyres on. Johnny managed to pass me fairly early on, which I wasn't too fussed about because I was thinking about the long-term strategy. After that it was a pretty boring race. It did get a bit more exciting towards the end with Nick having to fuel save, but wasn't close enough to reel him in. Congrats to @Nick Westy on a well deserved win and championship!

    Holy shit THANK You.

I was like 10 seconds off the pace tip toeing around shitting bricks because the throttle kept sticking LMAO

good to be back, sorry for being gone for so long. Was just burned out from Sim racing, coaching, life. Also was having issues with online people being schizos - somebody hacked into the HR system at the airline I was working at to try and get at my information and ended up being arrested by the feds in their home country for it - been starting to get back into IRL racing really hard the last couple of years, moving for work, went to Commercial pilot Flight school, lot of stuff.

I might be moving for a new job . . . *again* . . . in like a couple of weeks but I think it'll be US night shifts so i can make races again going forward. If I disappear again i'm not dead I'm just busy lol.

the bumps certainly made this race a workout with the opposite lock required, good battle with johnny mid race on the camel straight, had to do some fuel saving at the end as was not sure if I would need to do an extra lap depending on when time ran out.

Props to my team mate robin who defended his 4th place really well after attempts by multiple drivers to take the position.

Great broadcast as always Rob, was entertained throughout with all the battles having just watched it back.

    My race was epic.

I had the pace to win, but I f'ed up in quali and totaled..

Then I had a couple of offs, I think without those I could be at the podium, or close. Some nice battles, I enjoyed.. great car and track combo for me.

Unfortunately I have F1 Monza at the same day as Mexico, so this was the last one from me. I'd love to drive in WEC too, but it's in the same day and hour with my F1 race, I was able to do these because we're on summer break.

Anyway Rob, I wasn't running low rad LOL, I just had to top out 5th gear, there was no other way for me and for a couple of seconds of smoke it was OK.

Congratulations all! Great one Nick, thanks to my team, I hope they get some more points in the final race!

    I crashed.

Tbh I didn't feel very concentrated at any point in practice or the race, so I knew what was coming. Oh well. Congrats Nick.

You were on fire for sure, was quietly minding my own business lapping traffic and this merc comes up behind me from out of nowhere trying to pass me and I'm thinking to myself who the fk is this!

I'm just glad it was not for position because I had no answer to your pace and let you unlap yourself out of respect.

Yeah, you do have a busy live LOL! Great to see you still can find some time now for racing.
Is that you on the motorcycle?

I feel you, my car (the Mercedes Sauber) is way too hard to drive, if I use high turbo dials. So the fix is, keep it at 2 or 3 the whole the time. It is still a handful but I am (theoretically) able to finish a 90 min race. Side effect is, I am forced to a fuel save strategy and should lose less time in the pits. It was not perfectly executed, because I refilled still ~ 20 litres too much and could have continued with the old tyre set. But I was not forced to take risks.

At least I hope the reason why I lose so much time in sector two is the turbo dial :D Regarding the bus stop, during the race I suddenly found a lot of time but I could not really repeat it continuously. Probably you can gain a lot of time by practising more.
Funny, because my pedals have a flickering issue, I though that was a hardware problem on my side  Good to know.

And last but not least, sorry @Kostas Kantzouras and @Olli Karjanlahti
I was not really confident through Eau rouge/Raidillion and I touched the gras up on the hill, which forced me to lift. Good that this caused no huge crash. And because of that, I though I better let Kostas pass before which was not executed well. Should have done that out of la Source.

I did a 90 mins race on Saturday, still recovering. These monsters are just too much to handle for me, the Sauber with it's milky windscreen is just too hard to see :)

Maybe if i'm at a loose end I will think about becoming a back marker.

Well, don't take the Mazda. It's a little quicker in the corners, but that car has no boost and I have to make all sorts of setup compromises to have any speed on the long straight.
The Porsche and Sauber just turn on the boost and fly past. I would have taken the Porsche if I had to choose again. I also suspect that the Porsche is much better in fuel economy. Option 2 is that I'm really bad at fuel saving.

Have no idea how you managed to save the fuel in that first stint. I was on boost 6 or 7 most of the first stint but you still managed to save about 6 extra liters whilst keeping the pace up.
