Real race review: WEC Sao Paulo: Toyota dominates to defeat Porsche
(click here for the full review)

Toyota dominated at Interlagos on the way to a second World Endurance Championship victory of the season on Sunday.

The Japanese manufacturer’s #8 GR010 HYBRID Le Mans Hypercar shared by Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirakawa and Sebastien Buemi took the victory laurels in the Sao Paolo 6 Hours by a clear margin ahead of the two Penske-run factory Porsche 963 LMDhs.

Buemi crossed the line 1m08s ahead of the #6 Porsche driven by Laurens Vanthoor, Andre Lotterer and Kevin Estre, which in turn was 7s up on the sister car of Frederic Makowiecki, Michael Christensen and Matt Campbell.

Toyota led the way for the majority of the race and would almost certainly have finished 1-2 but for a rare technical problem for the sister #7 entry of Mike Conway, Nyck de Vries and Kamui Kobayashi.

    REVIEWING LE MANS HYPERCAR DRIVERS
    Disclaimer
: a dangerous LMH driver, is a driver who repeatedly endangers other drivers.

You don't have to outright protest an LMH driver(s), but if you think an LMH driver is overly aggressive in his driving/overtaking and a danger to other (GT3) drivers' safety, please report it to me and I will put this/these LMH driver(s) on a watchlist.
Dangerous LMH driver(s) will be reviewed by an Admin panel and, if justified, get a warning to clean up his/their act. If non-compliant, he/they will be asked to move to the GT3 class. If there is no room in the GT3 class, he/they will be asked to leave the series.

(Click on my name to the left, and select "Start a conversation")
If you want to report an LMH driver for dangerous driving, please send me a private mail with:
    - Name LMH driver(s)
    - Event
    - Timestamp incidents .... (do not base your assessment on 1 incident. There has to be a pattern of dangerous driving)

All mails will be treated confidentially and processed without naming the source.

    DONATIONS

We are currently hardly getting any donations.
Please realize that Sim Racing Online is a privately funded operation and it costs a lot of money out of our own pocket to pay for the servers and broadcasting.
If you are enjoying racing here and watching the broadcast, please consider making a small (€ 3,00) monthly donation to help us pay for everything.

Go to the home-page and follow instructions there.

I know Stripe can do it because I use it for my business, but it looks like the payment link I went to was going to do a one off payment.

The payment system we use (stripe) you can setup a recurring payment if a member asks for it.
There is only one member that has.

    CUTTING THE PITLANE LINE

I have tested crossing the pitlane line to set a fast lape time.

You can go to the left of the line to a certain degree, but by track design, you can only go so far before getting a cut track warning with a deleted laptime.
So, we will leave it at that. You can do some cutting, but the track will tell you when you have gone too far.

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcasted
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Interlagos Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration = Normal. Fuel = normal / Tires = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) Race weather = Sunny - see post #04
    6) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    7) YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAME CAR THROUGHOUT THE SERIES THAT YOU CHOOSE FOR YOUR FIRST EVENT, BUT YOU CAN CHANGE CAR CLASS.

    HOW WE START THE RACE

    1. The pole sitter leads the Formation Lap at approximately 120 km/h.
    2. The Formation Lap is done in "single" file.
    3. When both pole sitters EXIT the last corner for their class (the second-gear left-hander, Turn 12) the race starts.
    Interlagos trackmap.jpg
    4. You can not overtake anyone BEFORE you exit the last corner yourself.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    - You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Interlagos event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

ALL DRIVERS MUST BE ON THE SERVER 15 MINUTES BEFORE QUALIFICATION STARTS AT 20:00 GMT OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE SIGNUP LIST AS A NO-SHOW IN FAVOR OF RED LIGHTS.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

So we just changed to DST in the US so things are 1 hour earlier for me ..but does that change anything? The info for the race says 20:00 GMT & that is 12 noon for me like it always is ..but I remember it going all crazy when we switched to DST because the euro clocks change on different dates than the US?:D
    I don't want to be 1 hr late haha,but if I'm early that's ok ;)
