Im little overwhelmed of all this, its been such a struggle that started in that GT1 series long ago. 2 years or something. Ever since its been all about my gas pedal and if its working or not, spiking or not and just kept cleaning stuff, changing cables and whatnot in between. It all ended in having only 50% movement registered via calibration so it felt allmost like on or off gas and me feeling like i lost it and suck big time but didnt want to spend money. Now finally gave up and bought new stuff which came this week and 1st race with it. I did practice too around 180 laps or so to get used to that damn brake pedal which felt very silly at 1st. ( On a side note back in the day in some gtr2 leagues, people did 400+ laps of practice per race...me included ). Q Didnt get to try, tho i feel could have taken pole. I was late again, luckily not 15 laps like last time. R Started last and there was lots of battles going on, but have to say people were really respectful out there. Same was with lap markers and it really made my job easier. Took pit after 20 minutes since had a cap to P1 and P2 and had to try something else with fresh rubber and it worked out nicely. After that tried to manage and keep that left front in the play. Lastly, working gas pedal is a brilliant thing!!
Well it worked and sometimes didnt so not every event. Sometimes notice im losing time until see that i get 80% of gas and sometimes its fine. More like its eating you morale mostly and driving is no fun when you dont know if things work or not. And it eats you up as you dont put laps in for race and so on. This i did my laps and driving was without stress and pressure and fun. Guess thats the main thing.
Somehow the same for me, but not really, the end result differs a lot. I am not fully accustomed to the load cell brake. Pace was not great but the biggest concern is the tyre degradation. Not sure what caused this, maybe the many lock-ups into turn one. In end even with two stops I had too many mistakes late in my stint, where the tyres were close to drop off the cliff. I fear, at least for rf2 or especially this sketchy car, I have to drive more than 400 laps to get to grips with it.
I really got the brake going on this race, its still funny at times but during race didnt really lock up often so was good and really have to be brave with it and let it go! Went for high downforce to stop sliding the car and give that left front a chance. Car felt amazing so here is my set i used in race and did 38minutes long 2nd stint. I did slow little on right handers but last 3 laps of stint were still 1.26's so guess i nailed this one.
Good call going into the pits early.. me I chose to go farther and try to get some clear air after the stop but I fell right behind Robin coming out.. I could not get a proper lap time following.. great drive guys, see you on the next!
