    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast

    2. Mid-Ohio Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap
    a. the formation lap is done in single file
    b. when the poll sitter exits the last corner, the race starts
    c. you may not overtake until you exit the last corner yourself

    6) This is a dry race
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) If you have a disconnection at the start of the race, go to the chat box and type disco. If I read 3 or more people typing "disco", the race will be re-started.
Being involved in an accident, pressing esc and typing disco is cheating.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Mid-Ohio event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

My screens went blank at the start then while waiting at the pit exit and again a few laps later at turn 2. I thought that was a good reason to quit.

I've now had three disconnections in two races. I have no idea what the problem is.

My apologies to Lorne Martin. Sorry, just bumped you a hair but it was enough to spin you. I tried waiting for you but couldn't find you. After a few laps I realized that I
should do a drive-thru and I did. I know that doesn't help you at all. Sorry again!

Well Ed, thanks for that. It was just enough to upset the car. Very disappointed with that one. We move on.

I was wondering, what happened to both of you. At that stage of the race, I was catching up on you both and I thought there could be chance for some action. Until suddendly, Lorne was the wrong way arround and Ed was nearby. Tough luck, I experienced it myself, how hard it is to follow respectively race another car.

My race was not that great, I started already on the backfoot. My quali preparation was not ideal and I crashed in quali. That meant back of the grid instead of top 10. Then there was a bit of confusion at the race start, two cars infront did not go. After some time Stephen and I passed them. Not sure if that was correct.

The actual race was not that bad. I chased cars and passed some, but I also made costly errors. I spun couple of times, which cost me time but was not terminal. It could have been, I stood in the way of Randy and he then lost ground. I am really sorry for that, but it seems we both had luck. May car had damage at the nose cone, but was still drivable. On another occasion I was not that lucky, Stephen was recovering a spin and I only touched him lightly but that was enough to bend my steering.

As a result, I lost 60 additional secs in the pits. Annoying, but it could have been worse. I tried to revover from that and with some luck I found myself in seventh, when Ed and Lorne came together. Only for me to spin right behind Ed. It took me some time to get back to him, and I nearly lost it again, but I eventually past him for fifth. Which sounds probably better than it is, with three laps down.

Stressful race, I enjoyed it at times but in the end it was way harder then it had to be. Kudos to Nick and Matej, not only astonishing pace, also good tyre deg. A lot of room for improvement for the rest.

It was a struggle for sure, as I appreciate the drive thru by Ed, I also wonder why it happened. I was trail braking and I was hit from behind, hence the spin. I had it spot on in strategy, it was not to be...

    Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to apologize for the issue I caused during yesterday’s event. I was really looking forward to the race, and I had prepared thoroughly—I participated in practice, created a setup, and even completed the qualifying session.
However, during the formation lap, right as the lights turned red-green, my car’s engine suddenly stalled. I tried restarting it by pressing the ignition button on my wheel, but nothing happened. This caused a bit of a traffic jam behind me, and I was honestly very flustered.
At that moment, I thought there was a problem with the connection between my wheel and the PC. I ended up pressing the escape button and returning to the pits, only to later realize what the actual problem was. I had left a gear engaged on my Thrustmaster TH8 H-Shifter, which prevented the engine from starting. I mistakenly kept trying to downshift, thinking the issue was with my hardware, when in reality it was my own oversight.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience I caused and for holding everyone up. It was an honest mistake on my part, and I will definitely make sure to double-check everything in future events. I was really excited to race with all of you, but unfortunately, this was a lesson learned the hard way.
Thank you for understanding, and again,
I’m very sorry for what happened.

    Best regards,
