I think I'll give this round a miss. I'm fed up with the disconnections and I think my time would be better spent going to see my partner. If there are no discos, I'll rejoin for round 5.

This is also not allowed as pit exit:
You have to use the official pit-exit route.

overtaking on pit out lane, bumping and the pit maneuver is also likely to put you in hot water even if its entertaining.:D

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Laguna Seca Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap
    a. the formation lap is done in single file
    b. when the poll sitter exits the last corner, the race starts
    c. you may not overtake until you exit the last corner yourself

    6) This is a dry race
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OUR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECIEVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Laguna Seca event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Last but not least ...
SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    DISCO PROTOCOL
To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TEAMSPEAK INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.

Grats to the winner and finishers, I've got a new wheel and in all my practise before the race id forgotten to map they keys out I needed, and wasn't able to select new tyres, I realised this as the race started, and had been randomly hitting keys till I changed the angle of my view and couldn't change it back lol oh well, good fun while it lasted.

Well the result is decent, but there are some questionmarks. First and foremost, I want to apologize to @Matej Dakskobler. I was aware of your car and tried to leave space, just in case, because I was not fully sure what to expect.
It was not enough because of that sausage curb. That could have ended in tears for us both, or without any bigger consequences. For you that was not the case, I would have given 30-50 cm more, if I could go back in time...

In addition, during the first laps I got lucky, I tapped the wall after the corkscrew after nearly spinning. See both incidents,

It only cost me one position but it was costly, because now I was behind John. We had similar pace, so the strategy would be crucial. My intial plan was a three stop, but the tyres still felt ok, as John headed for the pits the first time. So I extended the stint and hoped to attack in the closing stages. That sort of happened, but kind of weird, because I had no idea how I ended up fourth, just behind John and Toni.
So all was set up, for a showdown and I was prepared to give it a shot. But John and Toni had different plans and pitted again. Somehow second, the last car on the lead lap, feels way too good actually.

Kudos to Nick and also to Ed, for making a one stop work o_O

@Rob Milliken good broadcast and regarding you question, how to pronounce Pichler. Well thats the ultimative challenge, because ch is neither c nor tsh. If you are interested

If you manage to do the Eichhörnchen challange, you are ready for it. Otherwise you can also try something like Pishler or anything else. I am always glad to hear new variations.

Toni was untouchable in qualy, no way I could get into the 1:08s in a month of sundays.

Good battle with Matej at the start, put him under pressure as much as I could without running into the back of him and taking my wing off, knew I had to force a mistake as overtaking was almost impossible, maybe he got distracted by the car having an off at the penultimate corner and seemed to put the power down too hard when offline and did some dirt tracking, I noticed that the grip falls away allot if you go a bit offline at this track, maybe thats what caught toni out too, from then on I made sure I stayed in the groove and looked after the tyres so I could stick to my 2 stop strategy, crashed out of the last race at the same track last weekend in the Porsche race when I had a comfortable lead so did not want to make the same mistake, had 3 moments at the corkscrew and dirt tracked over the second part, was distracted by a backmarker having an incident and the other two was just braking too late, was lucky not to take my wing off.

Really impressed with john and Phillips pace, especially john at the end, if I had not decided to save some push to pass for the last lap to do my fastest lap at the end he would of unlapped himself.

I am really starting to enjoy and get to grips with this car. Of course it helps when it's a track that I race in iRacing also. Looking forward to the next round. Here is my Video POV, enjoy :) Regards Ben :)
