I have probably been pronouncing Gilles name wrong because I can't speak Nepalese.

Philipp I'm sorry for the contact, hapoy I didn't take you out, it was too optimistic from my side, I should be more patient and wait for next chance to overtake. Lapped guy in the back didn't have that luck and could't avoid me..
For me yesterdays was a race that went from bad to worse..
See you all in two weeks!

Might be the case, or uses a western name, for instance if it helps, you can call me Steve. Or PHP, PL as the famous SVG or VeeKay.

On a more serious note, I would be a terrible commentator, because I sort of speak german, english and a bit of french. But that prevents you from pronouncing german, english or french names wrong. For instance, when I think I recognize a french name, I try to relate on my school french and pronounce it as such. And that is mostly not accurate enough or even wrong because its not a french name, as our nepalese Gilles.

So I appreciate the effort, if someone wants to do it right, but do it as it works for you.

I thought about that point and I tend to agree. But on the other hand, whenever I used mapping 8 the car gets very nervous/sketchy on the gas. Not only the race with old tyres also during quali, so the most time I drive in 7 or even lower.

Laguna was the first track where I was confident enough to try 8 in the race, and I immediately went back, because I nearly binned it after the last turn. I assume the most of you risk more in that regard and can manage it - which amazes me, because I crashed a lot trying that.

You will loose time if not in 8 all the time, progressive throttle delivery is key, out of slow corners need to resist the urge to put your foot down quickly for the inital application from 0-50%, it's basically a two stage process, gentle throttle initially to transfer weight to the rear axle, then when it's loaded up go full throttle, your foot has to be the traction control system cutting power until the grip is there, having softer rear roll bar and rear slow rebound softer can help as well as low diff power, higher preload sometimes works if the diff is unwinding too quickly on power.

    Yep. 100%.
Unless you are riding the map into and out of every corner like a makeshift TC.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am aware of the fact, that running 6/7 most of the time, might save some fuel but will cost me quite a bit of performance. I think it was not that extreme in Surfers or Laguna but Mid Ohio or Road America are different stories. The issue is, whatever I tried, will being in 8, I was making mistakes that cost me time or even caused spins or crashes at spots where I would not have expected them.

So yeah, when you want to be at the front, you need to be able to handle that. Will give it another try but of course, if I fail (again), it is always an option to go fot the more steady option. And I guess all those who are able to drive with 8 all the time will not be unhappy that I do the race without the extra power/performance ;) :D
