WELCOME TO ROUND 1 BURIMA - CHANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

    Chang International Circuit
The Chang International Circuit is a permanent racing circuit near Buriram in Thailand. The circuit opened in September 2014 and was designed by Hermann Tilke, who has also designed several Formula One circuits. It is the first circuit in Thailand to receive a Grade 1 license from the FIA and a Grade A license from the FIM, allowing the circuit to host Formula One and MotoGP races.

Since 2015, the circuit has hosted races in the Superbike World Championship and the Supersport World Championship, as well as the TCR International Series. That year, a race in the World Touring Car Championship was also held for the first time, but this race was cancelled after one edition due to organisational problems. Since 2018, the circuit has also hosted a race in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing championship.

The server will go up on Monday, March 10.

I tested both classes LMP2 and GTE, and I'm switching to the GTE class. Those cars are more rewarding to drive and the racing will be intense.

I followed your lead...mod brings so much memories but mostly done Protos so gte will be a more unknown territory..

WHEN YOU GO TO THE SERVER, ONLY CHOOSE CARS FROM THE LMP2 AND GTE CLASS.
The mod is too big to filter out all the correct cars.

Does anybody knows how to coorectly create a personnal skin for this mod. The Oreca 03 seems to be complex, with three different .dds files only for the car.
I know that there was somewhere à "How to create a car" for this mod, but I am not able to find it.

A lot of guys here are making their own skin. Can anyone of you please give Freddy some info on how to get started making a skin for rFactor 2?

    GREEN & RED LIGHTS

For anyone that does not know: being a red light on the signup list means that you are on the waiting list for that car class. Green means you are in the race.
The LMP2 will take 13 cars and the GTE will take 17 cars maximum, for a total of 30 cars.

You will not see this on the overall championship page. You have to open the event itself to see if you are green or red.
There is currently 1 LMP2 red light.
If you are a red light and still want to race, you have wait for people to unregister, or change car class if there is room there.

any particular reason why there is not an even split of 15 cars in each class?

If one class is not maxed out 2 hours before the race would it not be prudent to allow the red lighters in the other class to race as well so we can get a full grid, I know some people will only race protos or GTs and will back out rather than switch (not me).

Working from the idea that we will get a full grid with a 13/17 split, is based on the idea that the GTE's should not get overwhelmed by LMP2's.
If, however, the GTE class does not max out on the signup list a few days before, I will add 2 more LMP2's, and if there are more red lights even more to a max of 30 cars total.
    Good idea.

Being doing some laps in GTE's, seems a tricky combo to optimise the track speed at times. I'ts certainly due to my lack of FFB detail or tyre lock up and so pushing too hard but struggle to last more than 10 laps as the tyres start heating up and the car moves around a bit. But also my lack of setup expertise! Will maybe look to join later in season.

No rain. It will be dry the whole race. It just changes the cloud cover.

i am having the following problem:
no engine sound while in car and online (sound is ok when practicing offline)
I have just reinstalled RF2 and the problem is still there. Any ideas

My sound is not gone, but always soft when starting rF2. I go to "sounds" and change the "speaker configuration" to either one of the 3 options. That makes the sound louder.

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Buriram Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap
    a. the formation lap is done in single file
    b. when the poll sitter exits the last corner, the race starts
    c. you may not overtake until you exit the last corner yourself

    6) This is a dry race
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OUR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Buriram event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Last but not least ...
SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    DISCO PROTOCOL
To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TeamSpeak INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.
