WELCOME TO ROUND 3 KOREA INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

    Korea International Circuit
The Korea International Circuit is a 5.615 km (3.489 mi) motorsport circuit located in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, South Korea, 400 km (250 mi) south of Seoul and near the port city of Mokpo. It was the venue for the Korean Grand Prix from 2010 to 2013 after a $264 million (250 billion won) deal between Bernie Ecclestone and the Korean F1 promoter.

German designer Hermann Tilke was given the responsibility of the design of the track. It is part permanent, part temporary. The temporary part is along the harbour side of the province where spectators from the promenade, hotels and yachts can view the race. Part of the city with possible exhibition facilities, shops, restaurants and cafes are utilized as the pit lane during the F1 Grand Prix weekend.

@Gilles da'Silva has updated my paint job and while comparing it to @John vd Geest its smaller file. 2.9 vs 2.8 megabytes.
Key was in the the choice of paint: lightblue. Or so my teammates insured me and thus i get little better handling, braking and top speed. Possibly tyrewear aswell!

DON'T FORGET THAT WE ARE ON SUMMER-TIME

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Korea Conditions
    1) The race will start at 06:00 AM (in-game time of course). We start in the night and move to daylight.
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap
    a. the formation lap is done in single file
    b. when the LMP2 poll sitter exits the last corner, the race starts for LMP2. When the GTE poll sitter exits the last corner, the race starts GTE.
    c. you may not overtake until you exit the last corner yourself

    6) This is a dry race
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OUR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Korea event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Last but not least ...
SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    DISCO PROTOCOL
To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TeamSpeak INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.

    FORMULA 1 RACE

There is a Formula 1 race going on at the same time as we are racing.
Please try to make an effort to make it to the Korean event. We invest money, time and energie to organize these events and it's a shame to just see 15 people or less show up.
I personally look forward to watching the F1 race after the Korea event on replay. Thanks in advance! :)

Is there any performance difference between the Le Mans Spec (Low Downforce) and the WEC Spec (High Downforce) LMP2's?

Or is the difference purely visual?

Hoping to make it this evening, providing that my PC behaves itself this time. Sooooo many problems last time for some reason! lol.

I have never actually used TeamSpeak although I know I set-up to use it sometime long ago in the past and It seems TeamSpeak has no tools for recovery, so I cannot log-in to it. I have wasted far too much time time trying to get it to work.:(:eek::oops: I will not be able to use TeamSpeak. o_O

Arrrghh. Apologies for being so hopeless. I was enjoying the event (never raced on this track before) but lack of practice caught me out and I road a kerb badly and went into the wall backwards pretty hard. Would’ve dragged it back to the pits if I could but engine was gone (as well as two wheels…)

Would’ve been happy with a simple finish. My pace was getting better and I was enjoying the start at night.

Will try and finish off the "Spike the Dragon" inspired livery for the next race if I can. It’s nearly there but requires a lot of work. lol.

Yeah, nice weekend... Carl starts way before the exit of the final corner, then I spin at t1, then Karl veers in front of me and brakes, then Kostas turns in on me twice while I'm trying to overtake. Not to mention that I had low framerate for the whole race, I don't think it got above 30fps for more than 5 seconds for the whole race.

    Hopeless

I gave it my all. I had good driving, but I couldn't catch up with Toni's Porsche even in a slipstream. What kind of wings did you have? I want to understand if it was a setup or if Aston sucks in general. And it was just disgraceful from the prototypes' side, Nick's dive and my 2.5 seconds of lead, which I spent more than 10 laps on, disappeared.

Congratulations to Karl and thanks to Toni for a correct race as always

My LMP2 car (ELMS) has no option like this, so I would change the car if you do not want to bother about that ;) More serious, even if there is a performance difference, I guess none of the tracks we drive is suited for a Le Mans style spec, but maybe worth a try.
Probably a more general remark and I just can speak for me, I tried to be respectful, but it is not that easy.
In the latter stages of the race I caught you two, when you were nose to tail. In the end, Toni lost more due to my pass but that was not on purpose and I have not really an idea, how I could have done that better...

To my race, quali was not that special, so I was surprised, that I could keep up with the guys in front. I had not the car to attack, but I stayed there and waited for my chance. They came and I was a bit lucky not be taken out but on the hand, I also made no real mistake (besides, refueled too much). P4 is as good as it can get, happy with that.

Also a bit funny, most of the P2s tried to nurse the medium for the whole race, but Carl opted for the soft with a tyre change and made that. Kudos but makes you wonder if you were on the right strategy.

Toni and Roman were too fast for me, so I just made a lot of room for passing LMP2's because I had that luxury.
Uneventful race, but good points for the championship in third place.
