Understanding some of LMU's features and their closeness to reality.
I thought I would start a thread to help follow what's going on with some of LMU's cars and how their systems work.
I will start with this snipped from the LMU Discord..

    1. Virtual Energy

LMU uses the Virtual Energy system just like actual FIAWEC (& IMSA!) races. So, what is Virtual Energy?

It's a way to balance the performance (BoP) of multiple cars with multiple engine configurations, and if equipped, a hybrid system.

You may be unaware but fuel has an Energy Density (Energy: is the ability to do work, Energy Density: is the amount of energy that can be stored in a given system; which is ~13 kWh/kg for Petrolium), there's a limit on how much energy you can use in each race stint. As you use fuel (and hybrid electrical energy), the virtual energy is used up.

For classes with Virtual Energy you should consider Virtual Energy your fuel , rather than the fuel value itself - as the fuel in the fuel tank is not the limiting factor to your stint length, this is set by BoP. By default we have set the Fuel Ratio values in-game so you cannot run out of fuel while you still have Virtual Energy remaining.

Ensure you do not run out of Virtual Energy or you will recieve a Stop-Go Penalty of 100 seconds for the first instance, rising to 200s and 300s respectively for each future breach of the regulations.

    More to come later!

LMU's 'Race Control' daily races are insane fun, here is just a look at one 20-minute race! 500+ drivers, 29 splits!~

    My split had 20 drivers..

here is a thing with server hosting
If you want to set up an open server for short races etc. you must make sure you join early. I set up a 15 min quali and race session and my server filled and I couldnt get in. So im paying for everyone else to race at my expense. How stupid is it that you cannot reserve your own slot when hosting an open race:mad:
Unless anyone else knows a solution

lol .. only with a PW can you stop the masses ..
One of the first LUM races we hosted here I forgot to put the PW and we had 30 drivers in like 3 min! Open servers will fill quickly. You can have the RC page up & LMU running and alt/tab to the game as soon as you launch it .. I have had the RC page up while on the server for the admin commands..

So I had some fun with LMU this weekend. I think I did about 7 races between the GTE's & GT3's bouncing between the Dayleys. I made one onboard vid at Spa in the GTE Porsche,o_O:oops: battling from back of the pack 20th to finishing top 10, but the Highlight or should I say lowlight  of the whole experience was a night race at Sebring in the GT3's ..

This race was destroyed by one insane driver who must have lost his mind mid-race :D

I Q'd top 10 out of 21 drivers and had a decent start, dodging all the carnage in T1 and then again at the hairpin. After 1 lap, i was sitting in 7th :) . About halfway through the race, I saw a yellow Corvette flashing its lights at the cars behind me .. A lap or two later, he was now behind me and flashing his lights... Ok, I can deal with guys who like to flash their lights; sometimes it's for a good reason, like in multi-class races, etc. But this guy was one of those who thinks everyone should move... The way I look at it is if the car behind is constantly outpacing me, I will eventually let them through; however, if I can keep pace, he's going to have to earn it and find a way around ..Thats racing! (A little back story, I saw this guy in all my GT3 races this day, and every time he did the same thing. He would skip Q , start in the back, and plow his way through the field. In one race he finished 3rd. I learned this by watching my replays after he destroyed my car lol)

Ok, to get to the point of all this lol .. After he got behind me, we battled for a few laps with him flashing his lights all over the place, he would close up flash then go wide into the grass, fall back & flash sometimes from way back ..lol then close up, again ect.. I just kept hitting my apexes and concentrating on good exits ..

    Then this happened
    :D:eek::eek:o_O

You see him pull out in front of traffic after our spin and left me some 3-4 cars back ..he then did the same thing to the cars in front, and all 3 cars spun into the T2 S . that put me back ahead of him with about 6 min left so he was again behind me ... then the full send punt lol:eek:

I did report this guy so we shall see what becomes of it .. should be a ban of some sort ...

one of my many sim-racing weaknesses is that i react with a kind of visceral resistance impulse when encountering headlight flashing from someone who is trying to gain my position in a race. it's the full-on assertion of arrogance i react to ("yeah, i've screwed up a few laps, but i'm faster than you, get out of my way", or "i'm a devious bully bastard with no moral compass, if i can't distract you into a mistake, i'll escalate even ifl i take us both out"), it almost always overrides my generally strategic overview and changes my race strategy to "at the very least i have to beat this ass-hole in this race".

luckily, i haven't encountered a deliberate wrecker in LMU outside of a couple of open practice sessions.

hope i never see that guy on track.

I have same thing, someone flashes lights feels to me like " get out the way you slow F***! ".
And tbh i dont respond very well to it :D

Hopefully that will be the outcome, otherwise he will keep getting away with it. Obviously he's not bothered about his stats.

He is out of order and should at least have a short term ban.

I always jump out of the way, because someone told me when that happens, there is a medical neurological emergency on board that needs treatment asap.
