WELCOME TO ROUND 6 SUZUKA INTERNATIONAL RACING COURSE

    Suzuka International Racing Course
Soichiro Honda decided to develop a new permanent circuit in Mie prefecture in the late 1950s. Designed as a Honda test track in 1962 by Dutchman John "Hans" Hugenholtz, the track has a figure-of-eight layout, with the 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long back straight passing over the front section by means of an overpass. It is the only FIA Grade 1 licensed track to have such a layout, after the Fiorano Circuit was downgraded to Grade 2 in 2024.[citation needed]

In 1983 a chicane was inserted at the last curve to slow the cars into the pit straight; the original circuit was an extremely fast track with only one slow corner; without the Casio chicane some cars would go through the final long right-hand corner flat out and then would go past the pits at more than 200 mph (320 km/h). In 1984 the first part of Spoon was made slightly slower and the corner was brought closer to the track to expand run-off area there, and in 1985 the first corner was made slightly slower.
In 1987 the circuit was brought up to F1 and Grand Prix motorcycle standards for both Japanese Grands Prix of their respective championships, the F1 Grand Prix being the first held at Suzuka. The Degner curve was made into two corners instead of one long curve, and more crash barriers, more run-off areas were added, exposed vegetation was barricaded off and straw bales were removed (but still used for the Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix).

In 2002, the chicane was slightly modified, 130R (marked as 15 on the diagram) was also modified and some of the snake curves were made a bit straighter and faster; additionally, the runoff area at the Dunlop Curve was doubled from 12 metres to 25 metres, and the corner itself was made slightly tighter.

In 2003, the chicane was made slightly faster and closer to the 130R.

    Hi
What will the fuel consumption and tire wear be scaled to?

Fuel and tires are "normal". It's only the time-acceleration.

On the event page, check when the race starts in your own local time-zone.

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Suzuka Conditions
    1) The race will start at 04:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration is x 15. Fuel = normal, tyres = normal. We are doing a full day-night-day cycle.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap. The formation lap ends on the second apex of the last chicane.
    a. the formation lap is done in single file
    b. when the LMP2 poll sitter exits the last chicane, the race starts for LMP2. When the GTE poll sitter exits the last chicane, the race starts GTE.
    c. you may not overtake until you exit the last chicane yourself

    6) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    7) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OUR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Suzuka event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Last but not least ...
SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    DISCO PROTOCOL
To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TeamSpeak INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.

unfortunately I won't be able to participate in today's race. RFactor is blocking connections to servers from my region. Now the guys from my team are trying to find a solution through VPN or something else, I hope we can solve this issue, but today I have to miss

Q: good lap, but Peter ws just too fast, P2
R: started ok, Peter and Carl made a mistake, P1, and then it was my turn, and lost a few places. Then Carl touched me from behind, I spun and then we touched again during spinig and I lost my front wing. Had to pit with about 75 mins remaining. Decided to fuel save, to make it to the end. It was a crazy fuel saving - did all I could, but it would be just enough till the end. Brake points became completely different, and when I could really push again for final 3 laps, I completely missed the true braking point and went off :D
Made it over the finish line in front of Carl by nearly nothing, with 0.0 liters of fuel :D
After all that, P4 doesn't seem a bad result..

P.s. sorry for bump to GTE on penultimate lap, a bit of misunderstanding I guess (Vlaar?)

o_O You lapped the entire GTE field! @John vd Geest , please can Toni be made to do all the races only using reverse, wearing a blind fold, with one hand tied behind his back from now on? :)

    That's not fair.
Just make him reverse his inputs. Left is right throttle is break and so on.

Wait, what?! Podium finishers made the whole race with 75l? There must be something I don't know, 75l flat out for me was only enough for 66mins o_O

    Congrats champs/winners - well deserved.

My race was not that good, after I lost it after R130 behind Robin in the dirty air. Got splitter damage, which cost me performance, but I could continue. Sorry to Randy (presumably), I misjudged how much space I had to reverse. Good that nobody was hurt.

Later I made another error in Degner two, which resulted in a bend steering. So I had finally to repair the damage without changing to new medium tyres. The really weird thing was, without damage and still on the old mediums, I was suddenly fast. Made not much sense, but yeah I take the positives and hope I can continue that trend.

The graphic in the broadcast is missleading, it shows zero stops but they pitted, too.
