    THINGS TO REMEMBER

    1. There are 2 boost-settings: 1/2 & 2/2
    2. Tyres wear fast, specially if you slide too much or overdrive them. It could mean the difference between 2,3, or 4 pit stops.
    3. You have to clutch or lift your throttle-foot when upshifting, or the engine will blow eventually
    4. Damage is 100%, so it doesn't take a lot to lose your front wing or a wheel in contact. Be careful in traffic and when passing.
    5. There is no private qualifying. We are on track all at the same time and together.
    6. If you move your seat and have to adjust your mirrors, read this.
    7. There is no refuelling with F1 1984. If you run out of fuel, your race is over. You can take a lot more fuel than you need, but if you plan it tight and boost a lot, there could be trouble close to the finish line.
    8. It will benefit you to do a few private test races against the AI to learn the dynamics and size of your car with other cars around you.
    9. PRACTICE STANDING STARTS WITH THE AI AND LEARN HOW TO DO THEM SAVE!
Learn to be aware of what happens around you at the start and where you are in relation to other cars.
It's a shame to practice for hours only to find yourself in the pits for repairs after lap 1. Remember that damage is 100%.

I didn't know anything about the boost settings - and I've done a few practice laps!
Is it like a push to pass kind of thing?
And I haven't been lifting when changing gear, and no problems with the engine so far - does it blow after lots of laps?

Yeah, you can use it as a push to pass and for Qual.

How much time per lap do you think it's worth??

  12. John vd Geest

John vd Geest Administrator Staff Member Donator

That differs per driver skill. That is for you to test on boost 1 and then compare with boost 2.

    DRIVERS BRIEFING

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken

    2. Jacarepagua Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal, tyres = normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has NO formation lap. We race at the green light with a standing start.
    6) Qualification is NOT set to "private". We go out all together at the same time for 15 minutes.
    7) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OUR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Jacarepagua event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    DISCO PROTOCOL
To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TeamSpeak INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.

Short race but a lot of fun. My first race using an H pattern shifter. I was eventually going to blow my engine with a bad shift and that is how it ended. I was able to make it back to the pit and apparently you can jump into a backup car. That's what I did and then I blew that engine a few laps later. lol... Thanks for the fun and see ya next race.
