I´m looking forward to that race but I have a question regarding the rules. Maybe as Macau fans know overtaking is forbidden the hairpin called melco because of a yellow flag which is waved there permanently. Is that rule applied on our race here too?
We do not have a specific rule for this corner at this race, however we expect all participants to drive sensibly, fairly and with due respect to the car ahead, taking into account the nature of the track/corner. It would make sense not to try passing another car at this corner without invitation, e.g. the car ahead flashing it's headlights to indicate it is giving way, due to the extremely tight nature of the turn at this point.
Thanks Ken, I assume that should be enough and hopefully no one does the same as I did in Race07 with the AI opponents. I overtook there several cars but at fourth or fith attempt I blocked the road. The straights are the better opportunity to overtake a car. And for the rest we should hope that nobody (inclusive ourself) does something similar to Lucas di Grassi this year in the GT race at Macau.
At first I have to thank you guys, it was fun to drive these cars and I improved from with every race. Sounds like a farewell, well it´s one because I cannot race in two weeks. Now congratulations Andrea, Paulo and Fahn each of you drove in his own league and as well congrats to everybody who finished this race. Macau is always crucial but I think the most of you did it well. Maybe the third corner was a bit messy and I´m sorry John but I never expected such a late move. Therefore I turned. After that I really wanted to conserve my tyres which I failed in the three previous races but Ken did the same and was faster than me. So he gained second by second on me and could see my car on the straight. Then he had tough luck and crashed twice which helped me to bring P4 to the finish.
This race turned out different than what I anticipated. Well done to all drivers for finishing the race with most or all of your body work. I saw parts but no major wreckage. Had a good time chasing John and we seemed to have similar pace. At the final lap I had to pit for a splash. Still had a great time driving with skilled drivers. Thanks for the fun.
This track require a lot of concentration, mostly in race. Luckly, I haven't done mistakes, so I've kept my start position till checkered flag. Lapped cars have done a good job in this very tight track. Mod is good, is funny to drive. Compliments for the video Philipp PS: I don't know if i'll can join in last race, because that day will be my birthday
After I warned everybody about taking care at what I wrongly said was T1, actually T3, I was too pre-occupied looking in my mirrors to see if the car close behind was going to make a move. I missed the braking ahead and lightly hit the car ahead, sorry whoever it was and ended up down the escape road. Managed to catch back up and was looking confident of being able to pass Philipp when "my" moment happened, resulting in damage which I decided to carry to the end instead of stopping for repairs. When Mark who had caught and passed me had to stop on the final lap for a fuel splash, I held on for 5th with a fast approaching Barrett when we got to the flag. Grats to all those who managed to not hit anything on a track that doesn't give out favours to anybody.
I'm so sorry I couldn't do this race. I like this track. It is so demanding and unforgiving with mistakes. Look's like you guys had a lot of fun . Grats Andrea for win and Paulo and Fahn for podium And, unfortunately I will miss the last one too
