Could be because our server is down at the moment. Should be back up tomorrow (Friday) all being well. Does the track load normally in offline?
Track works ok for me offline and when I originally tested it on the server. Maybe try the usual Steam Validation for AMS2 files if not already done. From a web search: A CRC error loading an AMS2 track typically indicates a file corruption issue, which can stem from hardware problems, software conflicts, or incomplete game data. Common causes include faulty RAM, a failing SSD, or corrupted game files. The error often manifests when loading specific tracks, such as Laguna Seca, and may reference missing or corrupted .bff files related to the track, menu, or car textures. To resolve the issue, start by verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam, as this can repair missing or corrupted files. If the problem persists, try deleting the specific .bff file mentioned in the error and allowing Steam to re-download it during the verification process. For more persistent issues, consider a complete reinstall of the game, ensuring all traces are removed, including the Documents\Automobilista 2 folder, which can sometimes contain corrupted configuration files.
Please Note: The race promotion banner states the race is at 18:15 GMT when it is now actually 19:15 GMT, following the recent clock changes from Summer Time. The race page itself shows the correct time. I will amend the banner before the next race to avoid confusion.
Disappointed by some of the driving in this one. Spun out twice by different drivers, should have been a much better finish.
Yes, Oli, it was a bit chaotic out there - sums up the nature of these cars. Powerful beasts with low downforce .. I struggled to keep my lines and took a lot of self-forced shortcuts lol sliding and spinning in the grass .. Needless to say, they are very challenging .. I had a hard time feeling the front end, as to me it felt like the car was balanced on a center gimbal It does do great *360's though I chewed threw my tires as well, having 0% with 3 or so min left on front right. For me, this race was sort of like a bad round of golf, supposed to be fun but mostly frustrating! haha Still a worthy test of driving skill & hope to make the next round! I did try some setup tweaks to get the front end around better, & this probably resulted in worse performance towards the end .. But!! Good times we're had by all! Tight & twisty as she goes...
Strange, as for me he was fine .. we were close the first lap or so & then again when he lapped me I did notice something on Stephen W's car.. Stephen If you read this you might want to check your break peddles and give them a proper cleaning! I noticed on the strights that your break lights were blinking off and on a lot so might be some dust & dirt ..unless you were perpously applying small break inputs on the straits?? I was all to famillier with this with my old peddles as they constantly had to be cleaned ..
I'll show you the clip of a flying car when my VOD goes live then Oli kept disappearing then reappearing on my relative, I don't think I ever saw his car on track.
Did not notice it this time but Oli lagged already in the first round, so there might be some issue on his side? Apart from that, and there he does not lag but I would be shocked if Ed would punt someone like that or Brian basically crashing into someone, as no-one was there. Makes also not much sense, as this would cause a lot of damage. Anyway, to my race. After practice yesterday I noticed that the front right front tyre degreaded heavily. Surprising, because with all the right turns I would expect more deg on the left side!? So I tried to address this, first by reducing the tyre pressure (did not really help) and after I noticed that lock-ups (even small ones) occured with suddend tyre deg, I reduced the brake pressure too. That seemed to help, but I was still not super comfortable on braking. Made some errors during the race, but together with a unecessary crash it was still enough to win. A bit surprising, also that Ken and Neil both spun out with an oversteery car. Not sure where this came from, I had a lot of understeer
That's a bit strange then if its different across the grid . Apologies if I was warping for some of you. Also apologies to Brian, thought I had re-joined ok but got contact again, possibly due to lag. I did think the contacts were out of character, so netcode would explain it. I understand AMS2 is peer-to-peer so it depends on who the host was. I will need to check the ping notice for the next race..
Weirdly though, Rob always shows in the red for me, but his car looked stable on screen. I just never saw your car going in a straight line or making contact with the track. It always seemed to be transparent to flying above me. I was close to you on the relative but never saw your car and crew chief would get confused where I actually was because you kept appearing on the list then disappearing.
Yup. I think it was already loose and I was too exuberant keeping the throttle on. Once it gets lose, it's hard to catch. I was on wing 2
Just so you know @Ken Jagger I think Jose Branco and Martin McClune are the wrong way around? According to the laps completed and what I saw in game?
