First full race in VR. AMS2 is not as pretty and sharp as VR in rF2. Half way throught the race the sun came low in sector 3 and because I could not see where I was going, I hit the grass with the outside wheels and shot on to the grass, which reminds me very much of Christmas, because I was ice-skating for quite a while See you all in round 2. Grats to Roman!
Good race, did 30 minutes of Time Trial chasing Roman's ghost as practice and joined server. Q was not happening, went all bad R was great until traffic made me lose focus little and noticed my fuel wont last....next AMS2 event ill load 50liters extra, allways run out. At start Roman got a gap which i managed to shorten by a second or 2 in 20 minutes lol. He probably relaxing and then started to calculate fuel and it was survival till the end. Can you manage boost level during race? that probably would have helped a little to finish without quick fuel stop.
First race with my new graphic card, should all be now a bit more smooth. Worked so far, but the race was not that smooth. During the race I had too many lockups, and front right degraded fast. Maybe brake-bias change to the rear would have helped, but I had not idea how respectively if I can change that during the race. I will miss some rounds, but I will be back next year. Have fun I was searching for the brake bias adjustment, because that would helped me to manage my lock-ups better. Found after the race, with arrow up I get into a menue, where I can adjust brake-bias and fuel map (three different settings, but not the boost, at least this is what I found) Set up option, on the same page you set the fuel, from 1.00 (default) to 0.xy Although I am not fully sure what it does.
I'm sure there are button mappings for most of the things you mentioned. I don't have enough buttons unfortunately
Make sure you turn up the super sampling in game? Plus you might want to change the sun flare and bloom options in the gfx settings.
Grats to the podium! Some good racing throughout the field. Things got a little spread out mid-race with some good battles at the end.. The result file was missing the race info , so I had to do them all manually using the result screen from the stream. It reminded me of 7th-grade math , the Q results were there so I copied them from simresults.net ..IDK what happened to the race results ..It had only 1 driver ..me very strange as I wasn't even the host but I did esc to pits to stream the last 20 min broadcast style .. maybe that messed it up ..IDK .. Results are done! i got everything except race consistency..
Thats strange, John, as in the VR community, AMS2 is heralded as one of the best-looking VR games on the market.. Maybe try what neil says..
What card did you get ? As for the Boost: Looks like it's a permanent adjustment that you can make for each race ..not adjustable once set . Did anyone have it higher than the default 80%? I wonder how it affects fuel mileage or engine wear?
Usual for me. Ok pace but mistakes were made and i retired with a broken car. VR in AMS2 is not the greatest. I have tried a few different settings and it still looks a blurry Pimax crystal light, Rtx4090 ,13700k ,64g ddr5 Congrats to the podium I need more practice
I confused fuel map with boost pressure, mine was default too, saw no benefit in doing so. Maybe I should have, had some fuel left in the tank GPU is RTX 5060 Asus TI 16 GB Dual Oc. Before I had a 1050 to with 4 GB. So it should help me to Play the newer Games with a higher Resolution. Was even in ams2 Quite tight and Not really enough for LMU. Probaly still Not enough for that what others do here. Next thing would probably think about a bigger screen etc.
Yes it is quite different racing in VR. Takes a while to adjust. I cannot race or fly sims any other way. There is a price to pay in resolution with some games and VR is a hefty system for any pc to run. Im on my third VR headset and the technology is definately improving. With the higher refresh rates there is not so much motion sickness. VR can catch you in the trap of endless system tweaking as well That all said I still think the immersion you get from VR is worth it
Note.... the blurring at distance is normal for VR. You went ever have the sharpness there that you see on a monitor. It's a current trade off for the "immersion". Personally I don't think there is anything better than sitting "inside" the game.
Yeah, it's a blast racing in VR. All of a sudden you're in 3D with free head movement. The only drawback I can think of (Pimax Crystal Light) is the cable on the back of your head and putting it on and off if you have to do something on your keyboard or steering wheel menu. You have it all fine and centred on track and then you realize you forgot to do something ...
Tried both, and agree VR is great but I can only use it for short bursts. For racing, I prefer my triples with the Asus bezel remover, it gets very close. My cockpit is the car and I like seeing my wheel etc vs virtual one but its very much personal preference.
