    WEATHER TO BE ANNOUNCED.

    Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps:

Before the 1979 changes, Spa-Francorchamps was the fastest road circuit in Europe, and it had a reputation for being dangerous and very fast – it demanded calmness from drivers, and most were frightened of it. The old Spa circuit was unique in that speeds were consistently high with hardly any let-up at all for three to four minutes. This made it an extraordinarily difficult mental challenge, because most of the corners were taken at more than 290 km/h (180 mph) and were not quite flat – every corner was as important as the one before it. If a driver lifted the throttle more than expected, then whole seconds, not tenths, would be lost. The slightest error of any kind carried multiple harsh consequences, but this also worked inversely: huge advantages could be gained if a driver came out of a corner slightly faster.

    TRACK VERSION CHANGE:
    SPA HISTORIC 60s

Unfortunately, there is a graphical bug on the Spa 1986 and 1988 tracks where the track turns black with variable weather after 30 minutes.
Other modern mod versions also have problems with headlights and track lighting. And we will start at dawn for this last event.

So the most logical thing is to go to the Period Correct Version Historic Spa 60s.
Sorry for the inconvenience if you started practising already on the other version.

I would just like to say before the final round, thank you to EVERYONE that has competed in this series. Historic cars are always a blast and multi-class (while confusing) has added another dimension.

BEST OF LUCK FOR TOMORROW. We will do our best to cover the action on broadcast!!

Also.... after the race the top 3 from each class can come into the broadcast booth. But I will ask ALL drivers to mute their mics and only unmute when spoken to, then please mute again when we move onto talking to the next person to prevent cross talk. @Rob Milliken knows the broadcast channel password.

How ever the race goes I have been having a blast practicing. A true classic track. I am not sure about rain but I drive slow so i should be able to stay on the track.

    DRIVERS BRIEFING

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
Broadcasters: Rob Milliken & Neil Wood

    2. Spa Historic Conditions
    1) The race will start at 04:30 AM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal, tyres = x 3.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap. The pole sitters can start racing coming out of Malmédy.
    Spa start.png
    6) Qualification is NOT set to "private". We go out all together at the same time for 15 minutes.
    7) The weather is variable (see post above).
    8) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE".
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    9. PUNTING:
    - If you punt a driver, you have to stop and give the track position back.
    - If you are not able to give the track position back, you have to do a pitlane drive-through.
    - If you do not give the position back or do a drive-through, you will go 3 positions down in the end result after the race.
    - Drivers who are punted can report to me, John van der Geest/admin, if the offender did none of the above.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Spa Historic event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favourites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    CHANGING CAR CLASS
Be aware that you also have to change car class on the registration list if you decide to drive another class in the race.
Otherwise you will not be registered in the results.

Well a very short race for me, lasted not even half a lap lol, big crash. I Didn't realise it was going to start in the dark, and also had no idea where the start for the race was. I should've read the drivers briefing.

    Grats to both winners.

Thanks to John for hosting, also Rob and Neil for the broadcast.

Disaster for me too. Ghub updated. My steering felt a little off and I hit a wall on the formation lap. Damaged my steering. Limped back to pits but forgot to request a pit stop.
It was too dangerous to go around again.

Really enjoyed this series guys. Many thanks for having me. I've learned a lot, but still a lot more to learn. The first race at Riverside in the dark and rain was just superb. Really disappointed tonight.
