Sorry, but this track is not my idea of "fun". The car drives OK although it sounds like its constantly on the revlimiter. Have fun guys. I might logg in to have a look at the race
In Racesettings it says it will be a rolling/formationlap start. Is that correct as it is a single class race? Shouldn't it be a standing start? (and it doesn't go in the rev.limit Roy, unless you're driving wing 1/1 )
Standing start with this many cars (if everyone registered shows) is going to be quite messy. It's tight at the start/finish area anyways and these cars aren't really all that small. One person gets off to a bit of a wild start about mid pack and it'll be chaos. lol But hey, I'm down for some chaos too, so there is that
I suppose we could always do a Formation lap when the green light comes on. It might save a lot of aggro at the start and guys having there race ruined before it gets underway.
@Ken Jagger When you get a chance, check your fb messages..one there from me. Would be greatly appreciated
anyone else think that AC gives more random car looseness than other sims? find it very frustrating. Sorry for the hit Bruno in Q
Sloppy race for me. No idea how I managed to cling to 5th before parking it....honestly, killed the immersion for me. I hit the wall quite a few times, mostly stuff that understandably wouldn't really affect the car 'that' much. But, a few times I went head long into the wall...hard! Still had all my top speed and handling, though a bit looser, was still the same. The diagram was showing tons of damage, but mechanically it was nothing like I'd have expected. Few of those and I sort of lost interest and it got worse. Eventually, spun in the downhill, some cars were oncoming, tried once after the first few passed, to spin the car around and continue (was that far in, why not finish) but didn't quite get around and was in the way of some oncoming stuff, so escaped out. Meh...
The race was set for 50% Damage effect, so perhaps AC models the level of damage differently to other sims, not surprising really for all sims to be different in many ways. Got to say though that it's the first time I've heard online racers complain that they haven't received enough damage to slow them down even more I personally have always found rf & rf2 much more random in their looseness and tail-end surprise lack of grip than AC. I adjusted my setup for this race to lock down the rear end more from the slightly loose default setup, so maybe that was the problem for some of you?
Well, when I plow the walls like I did in that one, but I'm still driving a straight line and there is really no ill effect on the car...and even more so, I'm able to maintain a top 5 spot with all that slop, yeah, it's a bit of an immersion killer for me personally. AC damage models aren't the greatest anyways. It's a rather common complaint over at their forum (right before mods delete it....criticism of any kind there is basically prohibited) As is what Scott speaks of...and while I'll admit that a bad setup might be some of it...some of it is a bit more fundamental and goes deeper with this sim. I like it, and I have some good racing in it...but there are quarks that make it seem "off" sometimes. But, some of the supposed random looseness for some...I'll tack some of that down to clipping as well. If I run 100% in game ffb, even with my profiler set at 75% ffb strength, I clip over curbs...any bumps, hard corrections...etc. I dropped it to 90% and stopped the clipping, which stopped some of that. Some of it is better explained by those that have a handle on the physics and such more so than myself. Dig around a bit and you'll see what I mean. Won't post any of it myself because it's not really my intent to bash the sim. I thought the default was way tight. Turned off the TC and tuned down the ABS, got rid of all but a click of rear bar and stiffened the front a little. My issue wasn't instability, just lack of proper practice and not setting the car up much beyond that.
