Just wanted to mention, not sure if its the same for everyone by the way however, since DX11 I have not been able to use Trackmap pluggin, this used to show me the start lights on screen, now of course it does not, I was doing a practice race start in single player and I cannot see the start lights, I only hear the horn count down so i guess when the last horn sounds we blast off?(not that we can blast off the line in these cars anyway)
When did you start using this my friend? All HUD's that worked on the DX9 version of the game I'm afraid will not work on the DX11 version as the core code has changed. So a lot (almost all) of the DX9 plugins will not work on the newer version of the game. I've yet to try it but I thought Studio 397 had now implemented their own HUD design for the DX11 version of the game? However as they have now released the development kit for the DX11 Hud system if probably won't be long before others start to appear. December in retail has prevented me from doing much racing recently! lol As we've all mentioned before though it's up to the modders to go back to the drawing board.
There are a couple of guys who have developped HUDs (SHQM and SMG) for DX11 which could do the trick. Not sure if there are starting lights in them though. Do not know if I am allowed to put links to the HUDs in the forum but you can google them up in a snap.
For timing of the start without visibilty of the lights or plugin data, set your rF2 hud to the timing page and when the timer starts, usually a touch later than the final horn blast, go-go-go. It's better than nothing
Hi Andrew, I started using Track Map pluggin about a year ago but as we know that works on DX9 only not DX11. I have the new SHQM HUD but thats all it is..a hud not a pluggin as such It does not show the lights. @Ken...I dont know how to set my rF2 hud to the timing page but Ill have a look. Thanks. When in rF2 look under /settings/controls/display and it's whatever key/button you have assigned to the "LCD Mode" function which changes the various views of the standard rF2 Hud usually displayed at the bottom right of the screen.
Great event, even though for some reason I was way off the pace I had been doing during practising in the week. Qualified only in 11th. Race 1...Got through T1 cleanly heading for Eau Rouge, turned in and just going up the hill got a tank slapper on, just saved it without crashing but lost a couple of positions otherwise a clean lap 1, settled in as best I could, had a good scrap with Klaus if I remember correctly. Ended up finishing 7th. Race 2...Horrible qaully yet again....Decent start and just plugged away, fighting with Alex early on and then with Klaus, good clean racring from you chaps, giving room & respect. Eventually I past Klaus and pulled away, only for me to fluff it and spin which put me back down to 12th. Overall I enjoyed the event. Regards, Bret
Great cars! Love to drive them very much. Race 1. Lap 1. All my luck and crash avoidance skill was there to get safely through Race 2. Lap 1. Once I believe that danger is over someone dive from behind like torpedo in T1 and make big mess. Race 1. Good close battle with Klaus all the time. I was faster in turns, but he was like a rocket on straights. Really got stuck and overheat my engine while sitting way too close behind him Race 2. Luck is over, could not avoid all that mess and finished at no man's land.
Race 1 - 2 Hits in the first round are just one too many. It's just a race. Place 18 is okay. Race 2, shortly after the start I am pushed rudely into the middle. Before I have collected myself again, I miss the braking point and thus trigger the accident in the curve. Yeah, Alex realized it, Schmiedel is really John Rambo. Sorry to Paul. Again sorry to Alexandr, I hope we don't "meet" again. Maybe my points from race 2 should be distributed to Alexandr Meshkov and Paul Anstey. Congratulations to the winner and the podium. @Alex How can you use the HUD-Plugin with DX11?
From my view at the start there seemed to be too much moving around when the cars were so close together. In the 2nd race at the start I was pushed into the wall by a poor move from another driver and after looking at the replay IMO there were other poor moves which could be classed as a "punt" but there were no voluntary Drive Throughs by the perpetrator, as SRO rules state. Next time out at Monza if this poor driving continues. there could be penalties handed out.
I rolled back to 1109-DX9 engine. DX11 is not ready to serious racing. Still waiting for new HUD from Studio-397 and some sort of fix for Autoexposure. It is too dark in shadows for me in DX11, sometimes difficult to control where you go.
We always have a full grid here, thats fantastic! But that means, in the first corners we have to be very carefully. Please dont try to win the race in lap 1. Looking forward to another great show at Monza. @Csaba Lako: thanks mate, that was really a thriller. 2 times we were side by side, both times we give the other one enough space, first me, than you. Was ready to race, but 5 minutes before qualifying a power breakdown in the neighbourhood prevented me from racing. It lasted 1.5 hr, so the races were over by the time the issue was resolved. Better luck on the next round I hope. Depends on your hardware. My old GTX 680 has no issues with DX11, it's just a matter of tweaking the graphics where the AA level is most important regarding fps. I'm using the SHQM HUD (available via Steam) which is a good replacement for the Trackmap plugin and imo better than the basic HUD from S397 so far.
Q1: P1 - my first PP R1: P1 - armageddon is behind me so unscathed I reached the finish line calmly Q2: P2 - one of the drivers left the side of the road in front of me in the Pouhon bend, but it happens - we succeeded - happy P2 R2: P1 - I started off sluggishly, armageddon again, so I keep P2 and start chasing It was difficult to stay close to attack, but after a few laps I go to the lead and get to the finish line quite calmly.
