The tires don't warm up much, greenish-blue on the meter is about as hot as they get,
and by the next corner, they're almost fully cold again. I guess I've got the car about as
stable as possible without losing too much speed exiting corners.

About the pits, how do I change tires? It only fuels up. The pit menu has no options when
I enter pit lane from the track.

Best lap with 10 liters or less in the tank is 0:53.xxx. Once I'm ready for serious speed,
I might break 50 seconds. What is the target time? I'll be on the server later again.

From the server results files it looks like you were running the F301 car rather than the F309. Make sure to select the correct version before the final click to join the server, as AMS2 has a bad habit of selecting the wrong car and livery/skin.
In this sim you need to pre-configure a Pit Strategy in the car setup menu before going to the grid and make sure it's pre-selected for convenience, as it's not the easiest sim to make selection once racing, although it can be done e.g. if you have created several pit strategies for example.
First 5 laps with default setup got me 0:51:042 but one of our faster members has posted a 0:49:085, so no surprises there :D

Ah that was maybe because I kept joining in and out of server and I didn't realize my car change back to 301 when I was setting up the wheel.
Okay I am on 309 now and hit the target in 5 laps with a few setup changes. I will change my name on raceday. I was using P2P this time to practice, I sent message to you Ken.

The F309's lap times are almost identical to those of the GT3 class. Choosing a short track for this car is a bit of a mistake. It's great on full tracks.

And also, participating in a championship with strong competition, I saw that this car has a simply magical air flow, which makes it much easier to follow and overtake.
The car also allows you to take any turns (for example, the red water spa), and in general, on any track, both on the outer and inner lanes, you can drive two cars parallel on the track with virtually no loss of speed.
I wrote this to show that you don’t need to take over the entire track if there’s an opponent’s car nearby and provoke a 100% collision

I imagine the majority of guys would not expect anyone to try and pass going through Eau Rouge, whether its possible or not, so I would suggest an element of caution when making a pass attempt at an unexpected point, on any track.

The track layout for Spielberg was chosen to provide a different experience to the usual, which should create other challenges to deal with.

Please remember to use your real name when both practicing and racing on SRO servers, as failure to do so plays havoc with our semi-automated results processing system. If it can't match your name to your SRO Member name i.e. real name, then you stand the chance of not being included in the results.

Incorrect names seen so far on the server:
Iggy Hobo = Doug Dezan already acknowledged he will ensure he uses his real name.

That's a shame Doug as we always appreciate you running with us at SRO.

AMS2 has been updated today so to ensure no problems when joining the server, make sure you update your AMS2 installation in Steam. I've updated mine and been able to join the server as normal.

I didn't comment, deciding to drive the race first. In fact, most overtaking in these cars happens on turns. It's easy to follow and initiate an overtake with equal wings, but you'll almost never have time to pass before the turn.

Even with those a lap behind, with the exception of a few who let me pass on the straight, I had to fight in the corners. The car allows it. There was no contact today, which is good.

I'll also give you another observation - if you follow calmly, these cars allow you to keep up with your opponent thanks to the slipstream, even if he is a whole second faster on a standard track on a fast lap. Thanks everyone and see you on the tracks

If anyone has the server replay? I would like to check out a couple of incidents to see if I could have reacted different. Also.... I don't know where @Ken Jagger was on track, his name was jumping all over the place on my relative. May have been the same thing that I saw in the Stockcar series with @Oli Bateson's name jumping all over the place.

    Congrats to the podium.
I had issues the same on the timing list Neil. I seen a car floating in the air on start finish straight and Ken's car was invisible to me. My car handled like a ball bearing in a frying pan and I kept spinning off, I eventually got stuck on the barrier after turn one and had to retire. I had a few laps on Thursday and it was all good lapping around 48 -49 secs. I had a software update just before todays session which could have caused these issues. I wonder if anyone else had issues after update. I will check my wheel, game, race settings and replay tomorrow and report back if I find any thing out of place.:(:(:(

@Brian Donald not fully sure, but I practised yesterday as well and I tend to agree, the car felt different today. Maybe the FFB (heavier maybe?) or something else, but I also struggled and tried to avoid risks. Worked somehow to stay in the race and grab a podium, although I have no idea what happened to Phil. Not fully sure how I that will be at the next round, car is in general a bit specil to drive.

Regarding Ken, I can only echo that according to the standings on the left, he had a mega start and lead by 20 seconds only to be dead last in the next lap - strange hickups that AMS2 has from time to time.

Some weird S**t happening tonight which I haven't experienced before with AMS2. Near the end of practice I accidentally ESC out and rejoined for Q, but it didn't show my P laptimes as I expected, but not sure if it does in AMS2, unlike in rF2 for example. Driving down the pit lane I had a car drive "through" me as if I was invisible and then during the session I had a couple of occasions where it looked like cars were not aware that I was there o_O.

I was hoping/expecting that all would be good come the race, but it seemed to be the case as the race progressed that I was perhaps invisible to some, but not all, cars e.g. talking on TS to Brian and Ed revealed Ed could see me when I passed him, but Brian couldn't, even when he went out and tried to watch me in-car. He joined other cars where I was running close to, either ahead or behind and I was invisible to him as a spectator. From my perspective I was shown in the correct leader board position all the way through the race.
That never happened, I gained one place at the start ahead of Oli and was in 6th place at the end of the 1st lap as shown in my report in the race results. Maybe as Neil has suggested, something weird was going on?

I'd like to know who could see me on track and who couldn't to help investigate the issue.

At some point (I need to check the replay) I was hit from behind while being passed into T2, but not sure who it was or if I also was invisible to them. The car was still physically there and could be hit so it's unclear what the actual cause was.

The processed race results show Brian and Phil in wrong finishing positions. The race results will be amended accordingly.

Most likely, the result suggest that I lapped you at some point but I did not notice anything. I also had no damage, in case I was the car that hit you.
Maybe I should have saved the replay, unfortunately I have not.

I saw you, Ken. You were one of the few who let me lap the line, slowing down on the straight. Thanks.
