    ****************************************************************
    No Esc. on track rule in Qualification

    In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
    If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

    This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

    How does each race start?

    Every event will have a standing start.

    Points

    We will use the points scoring system from 1957:
    1st = 8 points
    2d = 6 points
    3d = 4 points
    4th = 3 points
    5th = 2 points
    Fastest Lap = 1 point

    I will register *if and when able to* however I am currently working 70 hours per week as an on the road truck driver (that's why I dissapeared a few yeasr ago) so I can't promise anything unless I get a new job I applied for that gets me home every day starting in feb/march, so pray for me so I can be there haha. and I WON'T be any good given how long I've been out of the saddle.

    When another series similar to this one is made, I think there should be limits on how many drivers can choose a car. The grid is full of Coopers (myself included) and it would be nice to see more variation. I'm not sure what the fairest way of deciding the cars would be. Driver ranking on the site gets first pick?

    I agree that there should be more variation. But getting a car based on ranking would kill the signup list. If drivers see other drivers getting benefits that they themselves can't get, they won't sign up.
    A fair solution is that everyone has to pick another car each round.

    Would also be ok with having to pick a different car each round!

    Another series is in the making and I will think about this. It's not a bad idea to solve this issue.

    Or a random draw after sign ups?

    Nah, if I signed up and then got given a random crap car to drive I probably wouldn't drive. Give drivers a choice.

    Maybe make limited numbers of each model available then the first drivers to sign up get get the best choice. Sure we've done something like that before.

    Well in the end its about racing and driving what feels the most fun for a driver.
    That said, forcing or randomizing is not very ideal.
    Sometimes different car every round is ok but when it becomes a regular thing, not so fun when have to drive 60 mins plus practice something that you dont really like.

    I just don't see the point in having a full modpack but only using 3 or 4 cars from it.

    The only reason I picked this car was that its seat is closer to the front wheels, which I prefer. I didn't know many others would pick the same, I thought most people would have picked the Ferrari :rolleyes:

    I think admin do a great job coming up with a constant variety of car/track combos for each series. It's unfortunate if, in a series that offers a choice of car, one car is chosen way more than any other, or that certain cars are never chosen. But, in my opinion, if that's the way it goes, so be it. Let the driver decide which car they enjoy driving the most. If it means we end up with a field of identical cars, again, so be it.
    My only complaint with that, is if the mod provides a very limited choice of liveries for each car. Which is the case here. I don't mind the overwhelming number of Cooper Climax's, but I'm not in love with the fact that they're all the same bloody colour scheme! It's a sea of green! A field of identical cars with identical liveries! Identical cars performance wise is fine (in my opinion) but identical looking in every way apart from car number is not fine (in my opinion).
    I'm planing on entering the Napoli race with yet another Cooper :D To try alleviate the dilemma of having so many identical cars, I made a couple of skins for the Cooper Climax that I'd like to offer to the Cooper drivers. The first one is for @Ben Summers. I actually made this skin some time ago, but decided not to use it myself. So, being that, apart from Maddie, Ben is the only other 'Brit' Cooper driver on the grid, I have revived the skin and put your name on it Ben. Hope you don't mind. I have also added a few vintage Dr.Pepper logos and a little bit of grime. It might take away from the realism, but maybe, just maybe, it might help prevent Neil from getting a headache from trying to work out who's who? :)
    UnionCooper.jpg
    The second skin is for @Maddie Shepherd, simply because I could use material from your YouTube channels Maddie, to personalise your car. If it's something you like (or can live with :)) that's great, but no problem if you'd prefer to stick with the default livery.
    MaddieCooper.jpg
    I'll change the colour of three more Cooper's and post them here for the other drivers.
    Should anyone have a question on how to get a skin working in the sim, please get in touch.
    Feel free to use or to not use these skins. Everyone can of course stick with the default livery, but should any of the skins be of use, then that's great.
    And of course, if you already have your own skin, or intend making one, the rules allow it. So if you do have one, you could help end Neil's nightmare of playing 'Who's Cooper Is This?' and maybe prevent him from drowning in a sea of British Racing Green :D
