WELCOME TO THE RED BULL RING GP

The Red Bull Ring is a motorsport race track in Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The race circuit was founded as Österreichring (transl. Austrian Circuit) and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from 1970 to 1987. It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring (German: A Eins-Ring), and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from 1997 to 2003.

When Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. Parts of the circuit, including the pits and main grandstand, were demolished, but construction work was stopped and the circuit remained unusable for several years before it was purchased by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz and rebuilt. Renamed the Red Bull Ring the track was reopened on 15 May 2011 and subsequently hosted a round of the 2011 DTM season and a round of the 2011 F2 championship. Formula One returned to the circuit in the 2014 season, and MotoGP returned to the circuit in the 2016 season. The Red Bull Ring also hosted a second F1 event named the Styrian Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021; and a second MotoGP event named the Styrian motorcycle Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic affected the schedules of both of those seasons.

I will give this event a try with my video card. I am able to run against 9 other AI cars, I don't have lag, just lots of glitter sparkles bordering objects.
My graphics card problem it's 4GB vRAM. I am looking for a used 3070/8GB and hope to find one soon.

Cool, online racing is much less taxing than racing AI.

I went out to practice on the server and managed some 1:32.xxx laps, averaging around 1:34.xxx, hopefully quick enough to avoid getting lapped! Big thanks to Rob for the valuable input that helped me make my videos much clearer. The slightly blurred background is intentional, that’s how my in-game graphics settings are configured.

My G29 updated today, the firmware update disrupted my button bindings while leaving wheel, paddles, and pedals functional. I open Logitech G HUB, I reset profiles to default by deleting custom bindings using the reset option in settings. Close the game, delete input binding files, unplug/plug wheel, and rebind buttons in game. Still no Buttons

My 1:34 average still with 1:32 bests shows, I need more practice shaving seconds. Focusing on consistent braking points. Experiment with lower traction control. I will be practicing more a little later in a couple of hours from now.

Don't you just love it NOT when wheel drivers update and break everything! Same experience over the years with Fanatec drivers. One step forward and two steps back

    Hello all!
It's been a while but I thought I'd come back for a championship to see what racing in AC EVO is like.
Looking forward to see you on the track!

I invited my friend Norbert as well, but so far he was unable to register to SRO due to not receiving the confirmation email.
He was able to connect on SimGrid though, so we hope that he will be able to register to this site soon.
Will it still be possible for him to join the race?

Sorry, but I can't find the server. There's nothing with SRO or Sim Racing Online.

Let us know how the server ran for you guys! (we can change regions if pings are to high)
I had a blast in the BMW. Those pesky track cut penalties are harsh!! i had 15 sec's of penalties and never really was outside the curbs the whole race! ..The devs have stated that those will be adjusted as the game moves forward ...
Tuff break for Neil..Looks like he got caught up passing the back marker & maybe spin on the curbs ..IDKbut he was the one to beat today!
I saw some missed the start! sorry about that ..it comes quickly in ACE right after Q. We do have the option to add a warm-up so I might adjust the server to allow a 5 min WU after Q ..
Other than that, fun race all! & Thanks for joining!

How has the netcode got worse in these newer games?!

Also... please please please.... if you are being lapped, please make it clear your intentions. I had one car go left and the other go right down the front straight. With the netcode being so bad I wasn't going up the middle! In the end I had a car lurch back and forth into me in the braking zone and I spun.

    Stay on the racing line!

The net code was really good for me .. :rolleyes:I had good close racing with no glitches. It's prob the server location ..as this one is in Seattle, across the pond for most of us .. (not me, it's my backyard lol) I can move it anytime (they have a drop-down for regions) & will try on Euro-based next round ..

This was a fun race, unfortunately I had a bit of a difficult start.
I was still fiddling with the setup, trying to make sure that I have enough fuel for the race, and didn't realize the race has started. I assumed that it would only start when everyone clicks ready but seemingly that was not the case :/
Then I had to start from the pitlane and got a drive-through penalty as well, which I decided to take early so I get less traffic overall.

It's good to know that this can happen, maybe increasing the warmup period before the race would be nice for the next few events.
Overall I think I did quite well, if not for my 5 sec penalty (due to my own fault) maybe I could've stolen another position.

Looking forward to the next race!

Ok, the results have been posted!
Round 1 Red Bull Ring GP | Sim Racing Online
We have limited data at this time due to the fact that it's simply not available from the game yet (no available/downloadable result files in early access). We are using screenshots and doing math o_O:eek::D.. so no fastest laps from the race or consistency ratings ..just the bare bones fastest lap in Q and race results!!

Also, the points for this series are not official and are being tested. We will be changing as we test the system, this first race only paid out to the top 6 finishers ..
Next round will use a different points system ..

Installed EVO a couple of days ago and only had a few minutes in each car before tonight's race. Still a long way from finishing assigning buttons etc (what's with the 3000 lighting configurations?) and working out the sims modus operandi. Learning how to start a race probably needs to be at the top of the list :) although I see I wasn't the only one left sitting in the pits when the race started
Completely buggered up the fuel - ran out during qually and finished the race with 50ltrs still in the tank!
Apologies to whoever collided with me at turn one near the end of the race. The radar lit up going past the pits and I stupidly thought people had pitted  and when I noticed your car, I wrongly assumed it was the person I'd just overtaken coming back at me. I'm guessing the contact ruined your race, I just hope it didn't ruin your day too much.
Minor points: I didn't notice any blue flags prior to that incident (I'm guessing they were there, but I didn't see them.) Entering the pits, the Sim was telling me to turn on the pit speed limiter, even though I had it on. Only real downer I found was the (VR) graphics seemed surprisingly blurry.
Overall, I've nothing bad to say about EVO. I thoroughly enjoyed the sim, give it a big 'thumbs-up' and look forward to getting to know it better.
