WELCOME TO THE ASSETTO CORSA LONG TRACK SERIES



This series will start May 16 on Saturday.
The series will be up for registration this weekend, April 25/26.
In this series we will use only long tracks of ca. 20 - 30 kilometres on average.

The mod used for this series is AC WSC Legends 60s Pack by Team WSC Legends v1.3 + INSTALL GUIDE
Not all the cars in this mod will be used. Only the cars that have ca. 220 BHP.

You have to keep the same car for the whole series,
but if you're really not happy with it, you can change 1 time.

SHORT CAR MOD INSTALL GUIDE

• MANUAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED into assettocorsa\content\cars\ and overwrite when prompted.
  • First, unpack the v1.3 carpack and drag the cars into this directory
  • Second, unpack the v1.3 skinpacks and add it on top of those (overwrite when prompted)
  • Third, unpack the v1.3.1 Hotfix Patch and add it on top of that (overwrite when prompted)
  • IMPORTANT: if you ignore this instruction and use AC Costum Manager (CM) instead, you will encounter bugs with 3D models that are supposed to get injected into specific skins, because CM fails to install those properly. Furthermore, you would not be able to get the Hotfix installation right that way either.

Simply download skin pack, extract in assettocorsa\content\cars\ folder and overwrite when prompted.

Installation Requirements: DLCs and Base Mods

• Ferrari 330 P4 Spyder: Kunos Ferrari 70 Anniversary DLC pack
  You need to own this DLC in order to play with the WSC60 Ferrari 330 P4 Spyder.
  
  The WSC60 version automatically loads the 3D model files from the content\cars\ks_ferrari_330_p4 directory, and you can't play with the car if it's missing (nothing gets overwritten).

We will use the original WSC 1967 points system.

• 1st Place: 9 points
• 2nd Place: 6 points
• 3rd Place: 4 points
• 4th Place: 3 points
• 5th Place: 2 points

Qualification
Instead of practice, we will do a 2-hour Qualification session. The time you set within those 2 hours will be your qualifying position for the race.
The qualification starts at 17:00 GMT and ends at 19:00 GMT.
When it's 19:00 GMT, I will advance the session to "Race". If you are on track at that time, you will lose that lap.

Every event will have a standing start.

Custom skins
You can not use custom skins for this series. There are more than enough to choose from, and adding custom skinpacks that everybody has to download and install makes organising complicated.

Sidekick Extended for Assetto Corsa is a popular HUD app that provides fuel usage, tyre temperatures, and delta times. Download the latest version from the nutrimatic.cc website and install it by extracting the files directly into your Assetto Corsa directory.

Installation Instructions
Just unzip the archive below into your Assetto Corsa installation directory.

If you have a previous version of Sidekick installed, answer Yes when prompted to overwrite existing files. Settings, odometer readings, laptimes, and generated car information from previous versions will not be overwritten, but I strongly recommend backing up the \Assetto Corsa\apps\python\sidekick directory first just in case you have any issues.

The Porsche 906/6 is a good balanced car with good top speed. The Ferrari Dino 206S Berlinetta is also a very nice car.

Ideas for the future ...

What would you all think of a new Assetto Corsa DNF series where it is not allowed to pit during the race, not for anything.
That would really scale things up.
We would run at 50% damage, so you have a little margin for mistakes or that stranded car right after a blind corner.

It doesn't matter how you get over the finish line, as long as you get there.

 

The DNF series are run with good cars and track. They are just the more challenging ones that you need to master. The title is just paraphrasing.

I found out something that could solve problems for others ...

I'm driving with a VR headset and some tracks looked a bit bleak.
The quick fix is adjusting the "gamma" with the keyboard buttons "Page UP / Page down". You can go all the way down to -100 (minus) if need be.

You can also increase the "Pixels per display" from 1 to 1,5 in CM/Settings/Assetto Corsa/Video.
