SIGN UP HERE In this new multiclass series we will set the GTPC Prototype Group C2 and the GT Revival against each other. The GT Revival mod has been raced at SRO a few times already and is well-known. GTPC means: Grand Touring Prototype C. We are only using the Group C2 out of this mod, so you can ignore all the other cars that are listed. GT Revival mod: If you raced in the Porsche 917 & GT Revival series, you have to Un-install the Steam Series-Patch by Neil Wood. Go to the link SRO WSC70 and GT Revival Patch and click "Unsubscribe" After that the GT Revival version nr should read: GTR2.0 in Modmgr. Otherwise, unsubscribe from Neil's mod and unsubscribe from the complete GT Revival mod and subscribe again. There are 5 GTPC Group C2 cars in this mod: 1. Alba AR2 = medium top speed, fast in corners, medium weight 2. Lola T616 = medium top speed, fast in corners, medium weight 3. Mazda 727C = light car, low top speed, short braking distance, fast through corners 4. Rondea M379 = muscle car and heavy, high top speed, slower in corners and long braking distance 5. Rondea M379C = muscle car and heavy, high top speed, slower in corners and long braking distance There is not enough room in the database for all the cars to download. You can download all the Group C2 cars you need below: Alba AR2 Lola T616 Mazda 727C Rondea M379 Rondea M379C (included in the Mondeau M379 link) SERIES PROMO
RULES & REGULATIONS - link We will use the points system of the WSC 1983 Championships for both classes: 1 place = 20 Points 2 = 15 3 = 12 4 = 10 5 = 8 6 = 6 7 = 4 8 = 3 9 = 2 10 = 1 **************************************************************** Keep the same car for all events You have to keep the same car that you will drive at your first event for all other events. You can, however, change class from C2 to GTR or back. **************************************************************** Settings: Weather variable Fuel normal Tyres normal Damage 100% **************************************************************** Qualification We will use a different Qualification format for this series: Qualy will be 1 hour long starting at 18:00 GMT and ending at 19:00 GMT. In effect, we will use the time of the practice session as qualification. The time you set in this 1 hour determins your qual position. I will advance to warm-up at exactly 19:00 GMT. Take note of this if you're on track. For this series alone, you can press Esc. on track and go back out again. During this 1 hour qualy, you can leave the server and come back later, and your time will still be there (unless you changed cars). **************************************************************** How does each race start? Every event will have a rolling start by formation lap. Both pole sitters start the race when they exit the last corner. You can not overtake before you exit the last corner yourself. **************************************************************** Custom skins You can use custom skins for all cars in this series. **************************************************************** MIRRORS ADJUSTMENT If by adjusting the seat position, the (virtual) mirror goes totally off-centre, you can adjust it with these settings: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1438005121 **************************************************************** Teamspeak Teamspeak is one of the features of Sim Racing Online. If you would like to hook up with other drivers on Teamspeak before the race (or any time), here is the forum link for the SRO Teamspeak address and password: https://simracingonline.co.uk/threads/teamspeak-ip-address-password.19/ For those who are not familiar with Teamspeak, you need to add the Sim Racing Online channel to your "bookmarks". **************************************************************** Please consider making a small monthly donation between € 2 to € 5 to help us with the monthly server costs. Remember that Sim Racing Online is run by a private group of people, paying everything out of their own pockets. Thanks in advance !!
I need to know how you came up with the idea of combining these two categories at the same time, John
Apart from historical accuracy, they make a very good fit together. Only differs by ca. 10 years. And they look like a match on screen
Does the track download automatically when joining the server? Or do we have to manually download it??
I think it does download the track when you join the server, but you have to test that. I always have the tracks installed already. Are you having a problem with the SRO download?
So far trackdownloading has been working on the times i have forgot the track. It is just super super slow that i would avoid it at all cost.
Hi Phil, I couldn't separate the GTR League edition from Goodwood on the server. Goodwood keeps appearing as well. Doesn't matter. Pick the one you like best. It's the same choice for all.
HEADS-UP Round 1 at Fuji 1968 is 2 weeks away and we need a few more drivers on the tracks. I'm hoping for 16+ so we can have some good racing. The cars and tracks are phenomenally good and the racing will be pretty exciting. If you like straight-on racing without BS, then give the cars a try, and I hope to see you on track!
The track downloaded fine when joined the server. The cars and track are a great combo - I do hope you get a good turnout! Setting them up is a bit of a mystery though, have you got any basic pointers? Cheers.
For which C2 car are you asking? As a general rule, don't make the car understeer. That also destroys the front tyres. The rear should be light and a little nervous, so you get a good turn-in. But it shouldn't be easy to oversteer. Play with the Diff/coasting and rear bump-rebound settings for coasting. Don't put too much brake power in the front. The front wheels should keep turning a little for grip. And set the gears up so you have a good, powerful exit out of corners. Generally, too short gears makes the car lose momentum in corner entry- and exit, and too long gears kill acceleration.
had some issues joining server as was missing the packages on this post. good thing it took me 5 minutes ( and not that common 2+ hours of wtfaks ) only to get here and download the rest
hmm still didnt work, its the Neil patch that i installed before he made it to steam. no clue what the files where... ( had to read full post )
This will make it work. It's in post #1 GT Revival mod: If you raced in the Porsche 917 & GT Revival series, you have to Un-install the Steam Series-Patch by Neil Wood. Go to the link SRO WSC70 and GT Revival Patch and click "Unsubscribe" After that the GT Revival version nr should read: GTR2.0 in Modmgr. Otherwise, unsubscribe from Neil's mod and unsubscribe from the complete GT Revival mod and subscribe again.
i installed the Woodee's patch manually before he made it to steam thus i found those mods on local content and removed...now just install gt revival again and cross my fingers.. it works now.
I think it's the Mazda. Its oversteering more than understeering. Especially when braking hard and turning in to a corner.
RACE LENGTH ADJUSTMENT Because there are 12 signups on the list, the race length of all events has been adjusted to 45 minutes.
