    MACHWERK 1967

    INFO
"Machwerk 1967" refers to a well-known, classic racetrack developed for racing simulations, particularly known in the context of Grand Prix Legends (GPL) and later converted into other simulators.
    Here are the key details:

    • What is it: Machwerk 1967 is an epic, fictional racetrack approximately 17 kilometers long. It is designed in the style of the late 1960s, with challenging, fast, and dangerous sections typical of that era.
    • Origin: The track was originally created for Grand Prix Legends (GPL) by Pavel. It is known as one of the "add-on" circuits that recreates the experience of car racing from 1967.
    • Conversions: Due to its popularity among sim racers, Machwerk 1967 has been converted to various other racing platforms, including:
      • GTL (GT Legends)
      • GTR2
      • rFactor (version 1.26 was released around 2008).
    • Features: The circuit is described as a very challenging "long track" (17 km), which means it is a challenge for both car setups and driver skills.

Automobilista - "The Other Green Hell" 911 3.0 RSR at Machwerk
Sector 1 is a bit Mickey Mouse and sector 2 & 3 is the "fast" stuff.

Machwerk 1967 is one of the more exciting tracks of this series.
If you love driving/racing with a bit of skill testing, then this is the track for you.

If you don't know the track, then just take it slow for your first laps. It's demotivating if you crash all the time.
See it as a rally recce. In fact, the whole track can be seen as a rally course, but with more drivers on it at the same time.

Once you learn to drive it at racing speed, you'll love it.

The laptime benchmark is around 8.21.xxx.

How is everybody getting on with this track? Was I too cruel or is it fun?

Unfortunately, I can't take part today and I'll be away on vacation for the upcoming races as well. It's a real shame, as I really enjoyed the opening laps of the last race. Thanks, @Toni Talvitie and @Gaetan NOYGUES. I hope you all have a great time in the upcoming races.
I also hope there’s another AC championship soon. Personally, I’d like one featuring standard race tracks so we can focus more on the racing itself without having to spend so much time on preparation learning the tracks. See you guys soon.

My new series is for Automobilista 2, Formula Edge.
But AC is certainly not forgoten. There's a lot of cool mods and tracks to run. I'll do something again soon.
Btw, do most of you guys have the DLC GT Legends from RSS?

Does nobody crash anymore ...!? :p

The top 3 showed some mighty laps. You guys really did your homework! Grats to Gaetan for the win. You were truly flying, man!

On lap 1, sector 1, I crashed on a bump I never crashed before and fel behind quite a bit. Was hoping for a race with someone, but drove alone from then on.
On top of that, I had to park the car to close a window, because of a thunderstorm. Nah ....

When I selected Machwerk 1967, I had my doubts. I thought the track might be too much. Too much to learn.
What did you all think of this track?

I think you will all love the next track, Schottenring. A true racing monster.

I found the track really enjoyable, and I didn’t find it that hard to learn despite its length because I felt the layout was quite ‘natural’.
There weren’t really close racing during the race, but I tried to limit the gap Gaëtan was building over me. I drove at my qualifying pace for the whole race, but he was still 5 seconds faster per lap!
Congrats for the well deserved win

Hello everyone and congrats to the other 3 drivers that finished the race because it was really a hard track. On my side I took a lot of pleasure and it was really challenging with little straights to rest.
Car was getting lighter with fuel but I really was agressive on my tyres and started to lose grip for the 2 last laps.
See you on the Schottenring !

Actually, the whole concert was videotaped by the venue. They provide video and, for studio nerds like me, they also give us the unmixed WAV files from all the tracks so I can do my own mixes of the tunes, etc., so with that, I might have some clips once they send us the data ...:)
