    MOUNT PANORAMA 1967

    Early history
Prior to European settlement, the area was home to the Wiradjuri people. The Wiradjuri called Mount Panorama Wahluu, meaning "to watch over", and it was an initiation site for young men. According to the Dreamtime, a warrior named Wahluu was killed by his brother in a dispute over a young woman – the bloodspill upset Baiame, who caused a volcanic eruption around Wahluu's body to form the mountain of today.

The area's racing history dates back to the 1900s. A man by the name of Dr. Machattie persuaded two local builders to drive from Melbourne to Bathurst- a 793 km (493 mi) drive in his steam-powered Thomson. Various circuits made up of public roads made up of dirt and tarmac were raced on starting in 1906. Until 1913, races took place on the 33.0 km (20.5 mi) Peel-Limekilns circuit, then from 1914 to 1925 the 24.9 km (15.5 mi) Yetholme circuit was used, then the incredibly long 100.6 km (62.5 mi) Sunny Corner (also known as the Mount Horrible circuit) circuit was used from 1926 to 1930 and the 11 km (7 mi) Vale Circuit was used from 1931 to 1937. Construction of the Mount Panorama circuit commenced in mid-1936. The first race meeting, for motorcycles, was held on 16 April 1938 and the first race, the 1938 Junior Tourist Trophy, was won by 20 year old Queenslander Les Sherrin riding a Norton. The first car race, the 1938 Australian Grand Prix, was held two days later and was won by Peter Whitehead driving an ERA.

Just curious, why is the pit speed limit 37 miles per hour for a race in 1967 ? upload_2026-7-8_6-21-23.png

It's set by the track files, not independently, so 37mph=60kph

The track creator built it that way. It's a minor thing, so I'm leaving it like that.

I understand. As Admin for Historics with CMS I changed the multiplayer json on the MNRL server so the pit speed limit is always 197mph. I did not mean any disrespect It's just a pian when fast old cars have to obey a slow pit speed limit. Love the track and car and hope I can make some races for the series. yesterday I had a Dr. appt so I unregistered. Thanks for the cool series you guys put together and the great tracks (Lime Rock Mountain , Fuji '68 , Mount Panaroma '67) love them all

    DRIVERS BRIEFING

    1. Mount Panorama 1967 Conditions
    a) The race will start at 01:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    b) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal, tyres = normal.
    c) Cut Track points are set to 20.

    2. This event has a formation lap and rolling start. We will do a partial formation lap because of the length of the track.
The pole-sitters can start the race after exiting the FIRST corner.

    3. PUNTING:
    - If you punt a driver, you have to stop and give the track position back.
    - If you are not able to give the track position back, you have to do a pitlane drive-through.
    - If you do not give the position back or do a drive-through, you will go 3 positions down in the end result after the race.
    - Drivers who are punted can report to me, John van der Geest/admin, if the offender did none of the above.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Mount Panorama event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu, or
Find the file ". . . steamapps / common / rfactor2 / UserData / Player / player.JSON". Open it in Notepad or any similar app. In the "DRIVER" section, find the line "Player Name":"Your Name" and change it to "Player Name":"John Smith" (or whatever). Next line "Player Nick":"(enter your nickname)"

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favourites so you can always find it.

I really want to make it tonight guys, but won't promise, as we are renovating our home and tonight we will work on the electricity, so I might be without it for a while exactly when the race is held.

I even test with Austin Healey and, oh boy - this car/track combo is fun.

If not here, will see you in Round 4.

For now, I will stay registered, but please excuse me if I don't make it. Cheers.

Thanks for the info. Good luck with the house, if we don't see you :)

Btw, didn't you drive a Ferrari last time?
We have to keep the same car throughout the series, but you are allowed 1 change within the same class. So if you take the Austin now, that will be your car :)

You go through the pit lane for a drive through. If you stop in your pit box, you still have to do the penalty. You can't do both.

Dang I wanted to race today, but I found out this morning my wife had a Dr. appointment. Then when she got there and found out the he had passed away from Sepsis. :( I really really want to race Lime Rock Mountain so I hope nothing stops me from racing that one and the remaining rounds.

The Doctor couldn't hold his appointment because he had died?

Yeah, that is a special track. It was converted by Corti on my request. I loved that track back in the rFactor 1 days. Did multiclass racing and everything there at Race2Play.
