SIGN UP HERE WELCOME TO THE EVO TRIANGLE - OFFICIAL SPECIAL EVENT The Evo Triangle is a real public road in North Wales, Britain, that has been recreated in Assetto Corsa. The AC track is 32 kilometres long, and it takes approximately 8 min 30 seconds to complete 1 lap at racing speed. The track can hold 16 cars. HEADS UP: You can start from the pit lane in practise and qual, but you can not get serviced during the race for repairs/re-fueling/tyres change during the race. That does not work. Therefore, the damage will be at 40%. That should enable you to finish, even if you hit something. This is an official event, so it counts for your official stats. To avoid BOP issues and spending a lot of time selecting the best car, we will all drive the same car: Ford GT GT1 Matech. It's fast, it's loud and has excellent physics. Ford GT GT1 Matech Date: Saturday, August 15 Qual: 17:00 to 19:00 GMT - 2 hours Race: 19:00 GMT - 45 minutes Tyres: normal Fuel: normal Damage: 40% Partial Formation Lap: to avoid crashes we will do a partial formation lap to Turn 1, which is a very tight 1st gear right-hander. On the exit of Turn 1 the race starts onto the long straight. RULES & REGULATIONS - link Helicorsa You need to have Helicorsa installed to enter the server: Helicorsa is a Radar App to detect cars in your proximity on track. **************************************************************** Weather Dry. **************************************************************** Points-system Since this is a single event, there will be no points awarded, but the results count for your official stats. **************************************************************** Qualification Instead of practice, we will do a 2-hour Qualification session. The time you set within those 2 hours will be your qualifying position for the race. The qualification starts at 17:00 GMT and ends at 19:00 GMT. When it's 19:00 GMT, I will advance the session to "Race". If you are on track at that time, you will lose that lap. **************************************************************** Esc. on track rule in Qualification in this series In qualification, you are allowed to press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again. **************************************************************** How does each race start? Every event will have a standing start. **************************************************************** Custom skins You can not use custom skins for this series. There are more than enough to choose from, and adding custom skinpacks that everybody has to download and install makes organising complicated. **************************************************************** Teamspeak Teamspeak is one of the features of Sim Racing Online. If you would like to hook up with other drivers on Teamspeak before the race (or any time), here is the forum link for the SRO Teamspeak address and password: https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/threads/teamspeak-ip-address-password.19/ For those who are not familiar with Teamspeak, you need to add the Sim Racing Online channel to your "bookmarks". **************************************************************** Please consider making a small monthly donation between € 2 to € 5 to help us with the monthly server costs. SOME REAL LIFE FOOTAGE OF THE EVO TRIANGLE Evo Triangle - A guide to one of Britain's best roads Evo Triangle racers jailed after footage posted on YouTube Driven: EVO Triangle in 4 Mins
Man this is a tough track, so much forward observation is obscured, if not by the cars ahead then purely by the many many approaches to turns just over a brow. But despite that I finally managed to get some clean laps in (damage=off hahaha). and managed a nice little 4 lap race with the AI and my best lap time so far 9:30.03. Now I'm getting a bit more used to the track I can start actually pushing and racing against the others. I'll probably assume my usual position of watching the rest of you disappear into the distance, but as I've already said, for me it is the taking part I'm here for. Good luck to all of you racing around Fonteny tonight, I'll be watching some live and some later tomorrow thanks to Jake (GPLaps).
Getting good laps in is all about track knowledge. If you do 2 or 3 slow reconnaissance laps a day, you will get faster and faster automatically as you remember what will come up next. That alone will make you fast. I think the Evo Triangle is one of the most exciting tracks in Assetto Corsa. As a driver, it's all you want it to be.
TRACK GUIDE & RACE SETUP Ford GT GT1 Matech Race setup (No, I'm not afraid that anyone will kick my ass. I want a good fight! )
No, you wouldn't be able to handle it ... right now for the first time! I can only go so fast because I know the track from memory ... after driving it LOTS of times. I have already done the work. I promise you that if you do 2 or 3 slow laps a day you will be already pretty fast after 1 week. Thats how I did it. You CAN do it. It only takes time and effort. And the track itself makes it fun to practice. I liked learning it. I already gave you the setup. Now you can hit the ground running The app is called "Sidekick" You can find the download link in the description. To install the Sidekick app for Assetto Corsa, download the mod package, extract it into your main game directory, enable Python apps in the general settings, and turn it on from the in-game sidebar.
I like the idea of doing all Alfie tracks, but I don't want to do another historic mod, but something modern. I will think this over
Yeah, I've done a lot of historic series. Now it's time for something modern. Not all the members are hot for historics.
I was just telling a friend of mine about this race as he works for a national farming supplies company who have stores all over Wales, He wrote back "Pretty sure i've driven that. There's a few wynnstay stores out that way! Hopefully you won't stuck behind one of these? "
