    Tried the alternative track. To stop track violations they have put gravel traps in. So if you are not pinpoint accurate through a corner you hit the gravel whilst 2 wheels are still on the track and you get spat out towards the wall. It seems very harsh to have this. The track we used does have track violation detection. So in my opinion the track we have used is the better track. :)

    You can always set the umber of warnings of track violations given to a low number 2 or 3 before penalty is applied to make course cutting less appealing.

    Consideration have to be made to the equipment drivers have. Some brake pedals give good feel and you can regulate the braking other cheaper pedal sets are poorer in this feel and therefore can cause issues. I'm of the opinion that ABS should be allowed because of this. Personally I won't use ABS but then I have Fanatec Clubsport v3 pedal set and they feel more towards a real brake pedal. Remember we are driving for fun :)

    Can we have a decision on the track version we are going to use by the end of the weekend please? So we can practice on the track. I know they're basically the same but if we're racing on the alternative track would be nice to have time to get used to where the gravel traps are and how to take the corners without dipping a wheel into them. Cheers. :)

    Yes, I was waiting for permission from the SRO owners to use the optimized Spa track because their loadingscreen has a big Formula-SimRacing logo on it. I was just given permission to use the track today. Btw, Spa track from the Formula-SimRacing is free to download and use, so no problem there.

    We will be using the Spa from Formula-SimRacing and I will finalize everything tonight in the system.
    If you want to download it now, you can use this link; http://www.mediafire.com/file/416sjfxeyq9q219/FSR2018_BELv1.rfcmp

    So, we arent using the Spa track we did the test race on?

    I have a feeling I will be spending time in these additional gravel traps which were added. Personally, Id rather use the one we did the test race on.

    Penalties for cutting the track could always be given after the race and it is reviewed by officials, no? That seems more logical to me than using a track which has added gravel traps which arent truly there which could potentially take someone totally out of the race vs getting a penalty or two handed out afterwards.

    I did a few laps on the FSR track and the gravel traps only slow you down, they don't make you crash if you lift the throttle. At least for me that's what happened.
    Also, be aware that if you cut 3 times (I think) and gain time in doing so, you will get a drive through.

    Lifting the throttle is the tricky part for me lol :)

    I will do some laps on it over the weekend and see how it goes.

    Yes, Im aware of the drive through penalties. I had got a couple during the test race, as did Lance Link.

    Think it's more to do with graphics optimization than the course cutting which I didn't realise. Yes I prefer the track we've already used but some drivers were having issues hence the change. The gravel traps can spew you out towards the walls but the main issue is you can loose heaps of time as they slow you down too much. But hey the decision has been made. Need to practice :)

    Yes, that's the main reason. If all 32 drivers indeed show up for the race, we could run into a spot of trouble with the preformance of the first track.
    So we've decided to use the optimized track so that issue is out of the way. We all like Spa, and this was the better option over changing the event. Now we get to keep Spa.
    As for the graveltraps, remember that white lines on the racetrack are regarded as a wall. You should not go over them :).

    Last;
    I've accommodated some of your wishes and have changed a few settings. most important;
    1. Damage 50%
    2. 20 minutes qual - 10 min for P2 (they go first) and 10 min for GTE alone on track.
    3. ABS low. ABS will stay with a maximum setting of "low". If you don't want ABS, you can still turn if off with F8.

    When Nigel Middelton has setup the new Spa track on the server, I will dropp a message here. Should be sometime tomorrow.
    Oke, now we can Rock & Roll :cool:.

    20 minutes Qualy will not give each class 10 minutes, if you take into consideration people finishing laps after the time is up. Far from it.
    We need more clear rules on that.

    Very true, also it probably would help if everyone is on teamspeak, to organize and tell everyone whats going on.

    Qualification rules;

    Total Qualy time; 25 minutes =
    First P2's alone; 10 minutes
    5 minutes pauze
    Second GTE's alone; 10 minutes
    5 minutes warmup
    20.30 BST Race

    * On exactly the 10 minutes mark, I will call the end of the P2 qualy in the chatbox. P2's can finish the lap they are on. Crossing the finishline they press Esc. and return to Pitbox.
    * 5 minutes pauze;
    * On exactly the 15 minutes mark, GTE's go out on my call in the chatbox, untill qualy runs out after 25 minutes.
    * 5 minutes warmup
    * 20.30 BST start of the race.

    You can not press Esc. during your Qual session and go back out again. You have to drive your car into the pits first.
    If you ignore this rule, you will get a drive-through penalty in the next race.

    Cody or John M - once you've put down some laps on the new track, let us know what lap times you are running with full fuel.
    That way i know i can add 3 seconds to your avg, to get my target lap time on the new track before I start practicing. LOL

    I am downloading the track right now and will get some laps put in today. Will report back with times on race trim with full tank.

    Edit: Just did some laps with Lance Link along with some AI to help rubber the track in. With a nicely rubbered in track, on race trim with a full tank of fuel my fastest time was a 2:18.332 but typical was high 2:18's. Potentially more time there if pushed harder but I was just trying to maintain quick and consistent laps without pushing too much.

    No issues with new track. Seems to run smoother for sure. I did have a few random crashes which I did on other spa also so not sure what that is (game, mod, something on my end). I don't mind the gravel but it will for sure claim a few cars. You really have to let off the power and not fight car when you get one which loses alot of time but better than drive throughs, which you can still get but not as bad it seems with new spa. I too perfer the original but the trade off for a smooth race is more important.
