A very nice job because some of the Enduracers templates are not the easiest to work with in getting alignment between adjacent sections

Im very curious to see/hear what kind of race trim lap times some of the other GTE drivers are putting down.

Just got my nixim brake mod installed on my G29 pedals tonight. Feels pretty good so far and brake consistency has improved for me. Really looking forward to Sunday!

Well, I hope to do 2:17s-2:18s in race setup, however I have to see if it works out, due to the tyres overheating.
Also I don't know how much practice I will get before the race. :)

(Btw, I also have the brake mod on my g27 pedals, it's so much better then the default one. I hope to upgrade the pedals soon thought, I would love to have more travel.)

I am in and around that same area for lap times, but tire heating is certainly a concern/issue. May have to take it a little slower for the sake of tire life.

The default brake on the G29 is far too stiff for my liking. The nimix mod feels so much better. I swapped the default brake spring to the clutch and swapped the clutch spring to the gas as well. I may put the gas pedal back to how it was, but I think I will give it a whirl for the race and see how it goes.

As for the pedals, I cheated the electronics store where I bought a Logitech G29 set.

I bought the G29 set, but brought it back to the store because the wheel had a defect. Instead of taking an other G29 set, I asked for my money back.
Now ... before returning the box, I had switched my G27 pedalset for the G29 pedalset because the G29 pedals are much better. So what I returned was a G29 wheel and a G27 pedalset. But they both look alike so you can hardly tell the difference.

(Btw, the store doesn't repair it to sell again, but they send it back to the logitech supplier and they destroy the defected set and send a new one back)

Yea the new tyres react strange, I had a 45 minute race on Sebring last week and could run the soft tyres with no wear or overheating at all... But at spa I get in trouble when I push for several laps. Maybe it's a setup thing... I am bad at making those.

At Spa I will be running mediums for the race as I can't get the life I want out of the softs. Even with mediums if I start pushing too hard or have some bad corners the tires get really hot and its difficult to get them back in check I've found. No doubt about it, this track is hard on tires.

Im not the best at making setups either but the tinkering I have done so far has helped with stability and more even tire heating. Making adjustments that get tire heating almost perfectly even gives me too much understeer. What feels right in terms of steering makes the rear tires run hot and the car gets difficult to control after 10 laps or so. Trying to find the happy medium.

Yea I am also going for the mediums. The soft ones just give up on me after a few laps. I mean this is jow it is supposed to be, I was just confused that at Sebring I had no such issues, even tho some corners are also very hard on the tyres.

The softs dont last long here, thats for sure. Not good for much else besides quali really.

That is strange. Sebring isnt exactly easy on tires either. Was your race using the S397 version?

Nice skin. If I can work out how to use GIMP I'll do a skin for myself. Reading through the tutorial seems more involved than Photoshop. Maybe for the 2nd round :)

Getting the same problem. A couple of laps out the car is sliding all over the place. Need to find a smooth rhythm here for sure.

So regarding the GTE tyres, has anyone found the sweet spot?
I struggle so much with them after a few laps. And again I was amazed to see at a race yesterday at Racedeparment that the top guys were running softs without problems, and I was struggling with my Mediums.
I tried high camber, low camber, high pressure low pressure... nothing works, soft will just overheat after 2-3 laps, especially the front right one.
    Anyone else had some success?

I think the answer is smooth driving. Not locking up the fronts and getting the speed into the corner right so you don't slide. I have found that I am more consistent on the hard tyres and the drop off in lap times is less harsh so over a long run I'm probably faster on the hard tyres than the softs. But yes it's a mystery to me and something I've struggled with in pretty much all mods in rFactor 2. I guess this is the price paid for more realism in the tyre models. :)

Yea it sure is smooth driving, but how can they keep up such corner speeds then. For me, after a few laps the tyres just decide it's time to drop off mid corner, and the temps go way above 100° :)

If I knew the answer I'd be one of those guys that we are wondering about o_O. Maybe there's something in the setup. I'm not that good at setups so maybe there's something we're missing. If I crack the code I'll let you know. I don't mind sharing setups but as they tend to be mediocre its not much help. :(

    Important note:

When you place your car on the startinggrid and are waiting for the green light, DON'T select 1st gear and keep the clutch in. You will role back a bit and get disqualified for a false start. Just keep it in Neutral and the brake on and select 1st gear when the green light goes on for the formationlap.
